Do I read that the posters who are prefering Hamann to Campo due to his extra defensive abilities are assuming that Faye will be at centre back next season?

At this moment in time I'm not sure if anyone knows the answer to whether Faye will be CB next season. Personally i liked him just in front of the back four. But we need cover in a range of positions, whether Faye will be CB or DM to my eyes shouldn't affect the Hamann situation. Strength in depth is something we haven't had as of yet in the Prem.

 

I'd like to see Campo and Hamann at the club, but that looks unlikely by all accounts.

l doubt even Allardyce knows where Faye will be playing next season - he could finish up being next season's Pedersen, filling the gaps left by another dismal summer's trading.

 

As things stand, there's a lot of gaps need filling.
