Let Him Rot!

Right, let???s cut the crap. Cut the bitching, the name calling and talk of breasts. It???s time for the club, the players and most of all the fans to unite against Nicolas Anelka.

I don???t care if Anelka is the best striker in the world and will score 75 goals, the fact is he insults every single one of us by making it quite clear he???s off if we don???t qualify for the Champions League. As we all know, the chances of BWFC making the Champions League are about as remote as Fat Sam ordering a salad. Anelka and his brothers aren???t stupid, they also know Bolton have no chance of finishing in the top 4.

Quite simply, Anelka has signed for the fat signing on fee in the knowledge the club will have to sell him next Summer when he pulls a huge strop. Another transfer, another 7 figure signing on fee for Nicolas.

Despite the fact you all know this is perfectly true and none of you would bet your mortgage on Anelka being a Bolton player this time next year, you seem reluctant to condemn the player. What the feck has happened to BWFC fans? We used to be renown the world over for turning on our own players if they didn???t perform to our high standards. Nowadays it seems a player can indirectly slag the club off before he???s kicked a ball and still be treated like a God.

Let me ask you a question. If you started dating a woman and after 2 weeks she announced she would stay with you for no longer than a year as she expected better men to be available by then, would you carry on seeing her? Not if you had any pride or self respect.

Bolton Wanderers used to be a proud old club, but since Fat Phil and Fat Sam took over there has been a remarkable lowering of moral standards. But now we stand on the threshold of a brave new world. A world where the clubs are in control, not the players and their agents. Bolton Wanderers Football Club can be the first to take a step into the new world by placing Anelka in the Reserves from the start and leaving him there.

We have come this far without Anelka, we can continue without him. But what a message it would send out to the world that BWFC won???t be dictated to by greedy players. Anelka???s career would affectively be over. And even better, everytime he refused to play for the Reserves (probably every week) we could fine him 2 weeks wages ??? we???d never have to pay him a bean.

Ok, so the one downfall to my plan is the ??8million loss. But there???s a simple way round it ??? you lot are always telling me what great fans you are so put your money where your mouth is. Say 15000 season ticket holders pay the club ??533.33 each they would recoup Anelka???s transfer fee almost immediately.

I admit it???s drastic, but I sat and watched Anelka???s press conference yesterday and felt a bit sick. No matter what he felt inside he should have been telling the world he couldn???t wait to pull on the famous white shirt and score the goals to win his place in history.

Instead, he was already talking about his next club. Anelka is a disgrace, and so are the Bolton fans if they don???t back me.

and if he does perform, we'll be able to sell him for double...

I understand the original post about this as it isn't the best thing to hear off a new signing, but he scored 15 and 17 times respectively in 2 seasons at city who at the time were a mid table team at best we have been consistantly better than that now for a few seasons and nearly every bolton fan you'll speak to says we need a goalscorer well now we have one and if he does score 15-20 we probably won't be in the champs league but id be surprised if we were not in the uefa again so if anelka gets the goals and gets us into the uefa cup again and leaves for a large some which it will be if he scores that amount I for one will be saying a big thankyou to anelka for coming to our club.

...and breathe

If we had signed him a week earlier, he'd be the current top goalscorer in the Prem.

He'd have buried the 2 soft chances Stelios missed at Charlton and he'd have scored the penalty missed by Diouf, plus he would have scored others too.

In this era, there's very few top level players who play for non-glamorous sides like Bolton for pride. Especially foreigners who've played for the top English sides and Real Madrid. I mean, what do you expect, for him to declare that it was always his dream to play in the same side as Nicky Hunt. That he longed to swap the trendy Paris bars and clubs for a hamshank off some trout in Chuffers.

Give him time, Campo was probably of the same mind but he loves the club now. Bolton that is, not Chuffers (he's a Taskers man).

Signing Anelka works both ways for the club and player. In my opinion, the 8m price tag is a good investment for a 27 year-old world class player with proven track record in the Premiership. If he pulls a moody after a year, we'll still get 6m back. Averaging the 8m over 4 years, the yearly 2m loss (worst case) is a calculated gamble admittedly but if we improve a place or two, the money will have been more than recouped ie. each place in the League is 0.5m (more for a UEFA spot) plus extra for merchandising and that we should forecast no more than a mid-table slot at the beginning of the season rather than assume our starting point is 8th.

If you want passion and the away-day craic like the fun in the Eighties, then hope we go back down to the 3rd Div. If you'd rather watch a better class of football chanting we are the one and only wanderers, then rejoice in the fact that Nicolas Anelka is playing for Bolton Wanderers. Unfortunately, you can't have both

Hark at you Mr Risk Assesor.

When you back......Gimp.

PS

Nowt wrong with Chuffers.

You've been PM'd.

Chuffers, fck me, you could never move in there - your feet just stuck to the "carpet".

Remember someone from the KK crew telling me he went in there still wearing his golf shoes. If Bobbers wants to hear the sound of broken glass, that's the place. :drinks: =@ :-k

No, The story is he tried to get in with Trainers on, no go, but he had his golf shoes in the car, so changed into them and they let him in.
