Right, let???s cut the crap. Cut the bitching, the name calling and talk of breasts. It???s time for the club, the players and most of all the fans to unite against Nicolas Anelka.
I don???t care if Anelka is the best striker in the world and will score 75 goals, the fact is he insults every single one of us by making it quite clear he???s off if we don???t qualify for the Champions League. As we all know, the chances of BWFC making the Champions League are about as remote as Fat Sam ordering a salad. Anelka and his brothers aren???t stupid, they also know Bolton have no chance of finishing in the top 4.
Quite simply, Anelka has signed for the fat signing on fee in the knowledge the club will have to sell him next Summer when he pulls a huge strop. Another transfer, another 7 figure signing on fee for Nicolas.
Despite the fact you all know this is perfectly true and none of you would bet your mortgage on Anelka being a Bolton player this time next year, you seem reluctant to condemn the player. What the feck has happened to BWFC fans? We used to be renown the world over for turning on our own players if they didn???t perform to our high standards. Nowadays it seems a player can indirectly slag the club off before he???s kicked a ball and still be treated like a God.
Let me ask you a question. If you started dating a woman and after 2 weeks she announced she would stay with you for no longer than a year as she expected better men to be available by then, would you carry on seeing her? Not if you had any pride or self respect.
Bolton Wanderers used to be a proud old club, but since Fat Phil and Fat Sam took over there has been a remarkable lowering of moral standards. But now we stand on the threshold of a brave new world. A world where the clubs are in control, not the players and their agents. Bolton Wanderers Football Club can be the first to take a step into the new world by placing Anelka in the Reserves from the start and leaving him there.
We have come this far without Anelka, we can continue without him. But what a message it would send out to the world that BWFC won???t be dictated to by greedy players. Anelka???s career would affectively be over. And even better, everytime he refused to play for the Reserves (probably every week) we could fine him 2 weeks wages ??? we???d never have to pay him a bean.
Ok, so the one downfall to my plan is the ??8million loss. But there???s a simple way round it ??? you lot are always telling me what great fans you are so put your money where your mouth is. Say 15000 season ticket holders pay the club ??533.33 each they would recoup Anelka???s transfer fee almost immediately.
I admit it???s drastic, but I sat and watched Anelka???s press conference yesterday and felt a bit sick. No matter what he felt inside he should have been telling the world he couldn???t wait to pull on the famous white shirt and score the goals to win his place in history.
Instead, he was already talking about his next club. Anelka is a disgrace, and so are the Bolton fans if they don???t back me.
