Smiley Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Anyone on here had FREE or subsidised central heating? My old fella got a flyer through t'other day. Called them, they asked him a few questions and said they think he should qualify for up to ??4K grant money for central heating in his 2-bed flat. Sounds bang on to me.

Wasn't that on watchdog the other day? The grants do exist, but they scam you somehow on top of it. I'd have a look at the Watchdog website if I were you.

Smiley Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 dad's a bit worried now! anyone know of a more local company who also control the grant money for CH?
Mrs_Salford Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Don't know if this will help but I remember reading about something called 'The British Gas Help the Aged Partnership.' It was a scheme set up to provide Central Heating/Insulation for older people. I think it's means tested in England but free to all Scotland. It may be worth while contacting Help the Aged about any schemes/grants they are running.
