I hate Southgate and this is a bit rich, given that it's only 2 days after England struggle to put these "nobodies" to bed. Why not restrict the F.A. cup to just all pre-qualifiers too and have the winner of whoever scraps it out in 40 or so games in the lower leagues have a chance to play with the B team of the 'big boys', and while they're at it, why not form a superleague instead of the premiership because shit teams like boro have nothing to offer against the real teams in the league.

Exactly, why should they have to work so hard just to have the "honour" of playing a big team. How is a country supposed to get a national interest in football, and get its youngster out playing the game if the only other team they ever play is their equally poor next door neighbours.

They may be minnows, but we hardly put them to the sword did we? 3-0 is hardly convincing. We used to beat Turkey 9-0 and look at them now, been to semis of the WC. Look at USA and South Korea. And the African teams.

Okay, Andorra, San Marino and the Faroe Islands will never do owt in the international arena because of the size of their catchment, but still got to give them their rightful place in the competition.

And furthermore - we could do away with the meaningless 'friendlies', if fixture pile-up is a concern.

Never mind that. Imagine the away day for the lads. Me and me lad had a good time there recently. Some good boozers about the place and a lot of cheap duty free stuff

Leichtenstein, Andorra and San Marino are sovereign nations; England, Scotland and Wales are not . Perhaps this is a good excuse to ditch the jocks and the taffies? Rebuild Hadrians wall and Offa's Dyke (I'm sure she'd be very grateful).

and bear in mind as well that Iceland only has 4 times the population of Andorra, and traditionally had a piss-poor football history. But I don't think anyone would now - after the development of the game there over the last few decades - deny them entry to competitions.
