Tevez

Featured Replies

ok, yossi

as posted i'm not totally unsympathetic, but how the fcuk can tevez have been allowed to play last saturday, the day after the wrist slapping, while the offence is seemingly still being committed

I believe this is because we've taken away the the 3rd party problem. Although he is still owned by MSI, he is now on a 'normal' loan deal, much the same as Mascherano now is with Liverpool.

BTW - I too think we have got off lightly. The trouble is, the contract that we originally had was quite complicated, and therefore lots of truths, half truths etc have been made up.

There is lots of bias and anti-bias flying around in the red tops mostly based on lies. That added to some supporters apparent love of a conspiracy theory seems to have us down as kiddie fiddlers rather than the crime we've actually committed. Like I say, we have broken the rules. Just not the rules that people are assuming me have.

To me, the Premier League are partly to blame also because of the length of time it took them to come to it's decision. The problem would have probably been avoided if they'd docked us points in January for example.

I also think, the Premier League should come out and tell us what exactly that money they have fined us is going to be put towards. They won't have budgeted for it, therefore it is 'spare money'. Why not put it to a worthwhile cause? Youth football, grass roots etc? A pot that non-league clubs can get grants from maybe?

That has always been the case. Fining Chelsea/Cole ?200,000? Whoopdy ragging do.

Well said, Yossi.

Will Whelan still sue us or the PL if we lose to you and Man Utd and get relegated anyway?!

Besides, he virtually admits himself at the bottom of the article that he can't sue us or the PL.

I'm really happy this has come out today - imo he is not sending out the right signals to his players, and our players are just going to be fired up again on Saturday. :)

Not sure why he would need to.

i agree that it is strange message to be giving out just before such big games.

Agree. he's not sending out the right signals to his own players or supporters at all. this is a very defeatist comment by Whelan. If it had been Whelan, Fulham, Charlton, Sheff Utd as a group - then it would have been more credible. The others just seem to be getting on with the task in hand.

I am very bias in this debate. I want WHU down. If the shoe was on the other foot and it was us, and we were near the foot of the table, I too would be scrambling around with mild excuses for why we shouldn't be deducted points.

As a football supporter Yossi, you must be gutted that, even if you survive the drop through winning enough games and therefore deserving your place in the top flight - for it to then be overturned and you get relegated BECAUSE THE TOP CHEESES at your club have committed an "administrative" crime.

I'd be feckin' livid if we were relegated under these circumstances.

With those thoughts in mind, I think the high ranking officials at clubs should be the ones hit in the pocket and not the players/fans by points deductions. And there needs to be some kind of monitoring to see that the FINE is not passed onto the supporters by way of increased admission fees.

I think a kick in the blocks for Bury rather than kicking them out of the Cup would have been much fairer.

Not sure why he would need to.

Exactly. It's a pathetic excuse for trying to avoid his team from potentially being relegated.

Funny how no team from outside the bottom six are saying anything on the subject.

Are Man Utd talking about sueing us or the PL because of Tevez's involvement in their loss to us earlier in the season?

Are Arsenal talking about sueing us or the PL because of Tevez's involvement in us doing the double over them and thus them missing out on some prize money for only finishing 4th instead of 3rd?

Hypothetically, will Gartside sue us or the PL if Tevez is pivotal in beating you lot and subsequently you don't qualify for UEFA?

It's pure sour grapes. Whelan's seen a possible get out and is attempting to wriggle out of it.

We broke the rules. The PL investigated as they should do. They have punished us. End of story.

Of course smiley. Which is why at various points over the last two decades, we the supporters, tried to get rid of our (then) Chairman Terence Brown and his cronies.

We are still hoping that the ?5.5m fine will come out of Terence Brown's pocket. Not Eggy's and certainly not ours. Magnusson has been talking to his legal advisors about it, but he has said no decision has been made yet as to whether he will try to get it back.

No. He'll just tell us what naive, ignorant losers we are.
