Making so many changes often doesn't work. I hope this midfield can gel quickly.

 

For me, one of Little Sam's achievements has been making our 2nd team as strong as anybody's - for what that's worth! For example in the League Cup our second string beat a strong Fulham side away whilst Man Utd and Villa made a lot of changes but slumped to defeat at home to lower league teams.

 

Anyway - there's some heavyweights on the bench should they be needed: Anelka, Stelios, Diouf, Meite, Gardner, Teymourian and Al-Habsi.

Was a good game. PLayed some good football and made a few decent chances.

Should of been more than 1-0.

Guthrie played very well.

he looked worth a punt from tonights performance, he seemed to do most things well but needs to improve his final ball and maybe not be so eager to dive into a challenge with two feet. also like the look of bratten and willy on the wings seemed to be something to build on there. as for the rest not alot of possitives to pull from them apart from cid looked better at left back again following on from his performance at fulham.

 

thought the performance was a bit sloppy but we won so cant knock them to much but mcann on that viewing was a waste of space, if he is hopeing to take campos place this season he can think again after that.

we tried a permanent deal inthe summer but Benitez wont let him go. Hes still part of his plans at liverpool - can see why

That was his own doing most of the time. He beat his man well but then he put his head down and ran into three defenders every time

Got to about 55/60 mins and Braaten looked f**ked.

thought team did ok no forwards till the elk came on. As for guthrie thought he drifted in and out the game second half passed him by
