Tribal Football are running that story too. It claims we want the guy initially on a six month loan. I think this is the newspapers putting 2 and 2 together and making 5. Not sure he'd want to come back and Allardyce might want him at Newcastle - assuming he's still in a job by Christmas.

 

I hope that we might get a couple of better quality players than Ben Hain (that's not having a go BTW). The quality of our signingshave gone down since N'Gotty, Ockocha and Djorkeoff left.

Heard the same thing today regarding Ben Haim. Apparantly him and Avram Grant do not get along at all. Megson has been made aware of this and is keen to secure a 6 month loan for him. Player is apparantly desperate to get away - watch this space i say.

having been slightly offended by your claim that i had merely read the story, i was straight on the phone to the bloke who gave me the info. normally he's pretty reliable and finds things out through a few decent contacts so when i asked him where he'd heard this and he said 'news now and a few of the papers' i was a bit miffed as i now look a complete tit!!!

Alright maybe I should phrase it "with the exception of Anelka". The point I was trying to make was we had two World cup squad winners and a world class midfielder. Yes Anelka is world class but the rest certainly aren't. Before we had a few together and the quality of our squad is very good, the stand out players aren't there. I know it comes down to money and not being a big club.

Dioufy is arguably world class if you take that term to mean someone who has; can or will make an impact at a World Cup finals tournament - he has.

I said it when he left, TBH is not good enough to get in the chelsea team and if he came back to Bolton I would not consider him 1st choice as centre half, although as a versatile squad player and possibly first choice right back I would welcome him back, but what about his reported ?60,000 weekly wage surely that will rule him out.
