desperado Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I believe the reason we lost that game is beacuse not one of our players would get in Liverpool's side. It always has and always will be the same, we can occassionally knock the top 4 out of there stride but more often than not we will loose. Look at the performance of Gerrard yesterday - he was fantastic, not much any side in the world could do in stopping him when he is on form like that. I am not going to fall into the trap of predicting a demise of relegation after losing to Liverpool. Yes there were problems highlighted yesterday and the last 2 games in terms of results look ugly. But I still think we can get the 10 points neede to stay up.
Ani Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 we lost the game for a number of reasons. jussi made a howler...one of those things kevd missed a sitter....it happens. taylot let the ball go out for their corner....but he is a fuckwit. these things are unfortunate. However if we or any team in the premier league play a midfield 3 of campo, taylor and cohen they will beat nobody, we were a ragging shambles in the second half, i could have seen it ending 5 or 6. (especially given the linesman stopped playing offside for last 40 minutes) if on top of that you have rasiak as your outlet, your target man playing wide right, you are fucked. players make mistakes during games with split seconds to make desicions, managers take a considered view of the game and change the team accordingly, Megson fucked up. steinsson off, job to right back bring a midfield player on and leave up top unaltered. could nt be any worse.

Bang on. We gave Liverpool a decent game in the first half. As soon as Megson brought on Rasiak we were fecking awful. Playing ok and only losing to a good team because of Jussi's howler, it was no time to make the change he did. And Diouf was absolutely shocking yesterday. And please can we have Hunt in the 16 if that is how JOB plays at right back.

Mind you, he wasn't on his own in that. Hyypia must have thought it was Christmas when Megson moved Davies out wide. It would have made more sense to put Stelios on and shift Taylor into the middle. We were never in the game after Rasiak came on - I'm not even sure he touched the ball.

White Army Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 we lost 2 midfielders JOB and Nolan and replaced them with fkin cohen. Rasiak came on and for some reason shifted davies out wide so the ball kept coming back. For a 6footer plus he is one big tart didnt challenge for one ball never mind win it even made that skrtel look good. Cohen and campo in midfield v gerrard mascherano and alonso??? only one winner. would of rather seen stelios or vaz te than gregorz, love to know what megson was thinking signing him and cohen
