pike_mill_white Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Don't know if Sky are guessing as its a bit early but the team news is as you were but with Shittu in, McCann (play Riga for fcks sake) and Gardner. Meite is playing, should be interesting.....

pike_mill_white Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 Meite first goal??????? Hopefully an own goal.
fishbulb Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Is it me or is this just bollocks? From BBC site Correction - 25 Shot by Mustapha Riga (Bolton) left-footed from left side of six-yard box (6 yards), missed left. Goal kick taken short by Ricardo Gardner (Bolton).
zurichwhite Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 JoB off clash of heads with Steinsson, Riga on. Think we bought his brother Mortis. Nolan lucky to stay on the park after a yellow for a series of niggly challenges followed by a scything boot to their defender's gut. Meite off injured. On balance, WBA looked the more threatening, I'd say, couple of slick passing moves unlucky not to have scored (Morrison) after Jussi pulled off a stunning save plus a poor finish when through by their new signing Valero. McCann is truly awful.
zurichwhite Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Not a bad game, deserved goals but a draw is a fair result. Stating the bleedin' obvious but we simply haven't got a strike force. By not putting any forwards on in the second half shows Megson knows we have nothing other than Elmander and yet..blah blah blah For me, Jussi 7 - outstanding save in the first half, also a good stop from Miller Samuel 6 - couple of good stops first half, didn't really link well with Gardner ie. overlap/cover Steinsson 5 - quiet, not much chance to go forward other than long throw-ins Shittu 7 - solid at the back, handful in the opponent's box O'Brien 6 - quiet but largely effective McCann 5 - better in the second half, but slow, clumsy and can't pass a ball Muamba 4 - very disappointing second half, gave the ball away at key moments and together with McCann ineffective at closing down J O'Brien 5 - went off early Gardner 6 - lots of endeavour but didn't really create much Nolan 5 - not really sure where he goes from here, love his committment but this game was set up for him to shine Davies 6 - bright first half, was bundled over by Carson, faded as he dropped deeper in the second half, recovered well in last 10 mins with a couple of rightly disallowed chances sub Riga 6 - came more into it, set pieces went through him, one nice effort but could improve as he adjusts
