Mccann's Tackle

Featured Replies

On Pamarrot in front of ESL.

What a challenge.

You could hear the crack from where we were sat - probably the clatter of studs on shin pad - but got the ball cleanly ()!

Couldn't believe the reaction of the Pompey players - it was just a good old blood & thunder challenge.

I thought McCann was immense yesterday on the odd occasion Portsmouth allowed the ball to get anywhere close to the floor.

Bang on :good:

Thar reminds me, Pompey play the most "long balls" I have seen. They have one way of attacking, get the ball and lump it high to Crouch, Defoe then runs around quickly to try and pick up any scraps. They have fcuk all else. They are a poor team IMO and I don't see why they have been doing so well recentley.

Adams said Crouch was the only plus point for 'leading the line well'

They've not been doing that well really, they are a side in sharp decline IMO

The tackle was hard and fair but the ref gave a free kick and a lecture to Mccann. What a joke. It's a contact sport for crying out loud. When I played I used to love tackling like that. If I was on the receiving head I would just get up and make sure I got a harder tackle on the player who had just done it. This rolling around in agony.....the fooking puff!!

Brilliant tackle.

Whilst on the subject of tackling, hard to understand how Steinsson was booked for being on the receiving end of a two footed challenge from Hereidsson?..and it was right under the nose of the linseman, who actually flagged for a free kick to them.

I know, what the feck was that all about?

Also on the issue of tackling. Why the fcuk is there questions about whether John Terry's tackle was worthy of a red card.

Why is that southern red ginger any different to anybody else? It was a horrible high takle with studs up and he caught the player, it's a red card. Why they are even considering appealing I do not know. (Although I wouldn't be suprised if it was rescinded the bent southern tw*ts)

They should give him an extra game ban for frivolous appealling like they gave someone at Boro.

Joe Royle on Football First claimed that Steinsson went in two footed, and his mate Herman was justified in his reaction.

Also made lots of comments about Davies committing the most fouls in the Premier League.

That's the sort of rubbish that gets us a bad name in football.

trought the rules on Chelsea red card appeals on Terry were to recind the red card and demote the referee?

If you watched Graham Poll last night you'd know the answer to that.
