January 6, 200917 yr Bratislava is like Prague was 10 years ago. Which is, in my opinion, a good thing. Not as many brothels, but the quality makes up for the lack of quantity.
January 6, 200917 yr I'm going on a stag trip in May and the organiser has actually been scared off Bratislava by that Hostel film. Looks like Benidorm now.

January 6, 200917 yr Went Bratislava when England played Slovakia in 2003 and thought it was rough as ****, having said that only had a day there... so might be off the mark.. Vienna - went when England played in 2004 and thought it was ok - if a bit pricy...

January 6, 200917 yr We stayed on one of the Botels moored on the Danube, we stayed there and travelled to Vienna for the England game last year, it was about 18 inches in snow and the coldest I have ever been, but it was a quality trip.

I stayed in that Botel a few years back. Best value option IMO as there no real cheap accomodation options in Bratislava (although everyting else was dirt cheap). Only did a day trip to Vienna as it is about an hour away on the train. Great buidlings and seemed to be a lot to do on the cultural front (museums/galleries, etc). But if you just fancy having a few beers and a good time I'd stick to Bratislava.
