A bit off topic but ....

I turned over to the Boro V Hammers cup replay last night. Boro had taken an early 2-0 lead. I noticed that when West Ham had possession around their own area, Boro often had 3-4 players in the West Ham half defending and closing down. West Ham never really got any attacking rhythm going.

Just wondering about how that contrasts with us defending our own area so deeply last Saturday. Again.

 

Did you watch the first half on Saturday?

 

Deep defending it certainly was not.

 

 

Maybe what is needed is something inbetween the two extremes.

was gonna watch that game myself - but then i decided to clean my bell end with a vat of hot acid and a brillo pad instead...

Why not, Cas ? Don't be so blinkered. Sure Boro are shite, and yet despite that they contained West Ham last night for a 2-0 win better than we did last weekend. Got to be something worth considering there, is all I'm saying.

They huffed and puffed the whole of the second half, working really hard against us and played a game a few days later having also had the mental blow of losing a game the chances they had to win. maybe that's why it was easier for Boro to contain them?
