Well I've Heard It All Now

I've opted to watch MOTD now, it's drivel I know but easy watching. Anyhow, I know we have our fair share of nobheads at the Reebok but blimey, booing owd Red Nose for subbing the mutant Argentinian. Absolute braindeads!

Is booing this season's black?

It is if you are a Scummer. Their crowds universal booing when Arsenal were in possession in the first leg of the Champions League semi as if they were Turkish was horrendous and will set a precedent I fear.

It must be really boring now being Munich

You're right, I'm gutted for them.

They'll have to be sponsored by NASA, trying to find planets for them to conquer.

They have taken plastic to new levels this season.

It's like that young lad who scored a couple, big deal. They are signing the best young players in the world. It's hardly a f?cking surprise. They want to present it as some fairy tale but it's anything but. Most other teams in the division couldn't afford him, yet he's sixth choice or whatever for them.

This season might've been my tipping point for top flight football. It's become dross. Pretty much the usual suspects at the top and bottom and very, very little chance of anyone breaking in or out of their pre-ordained status.

absolutely agree, was sat lamenting the same in pub last night

will only get worse as the scum can service their debt and afford pretty much whoever they want to buy young or old

unless the financial management of clubs is changed & governed - a la Formula 1 possibly, then the Premier is doomed

gartside was saying yesterday that manure can gain our seasons matchday receipts in two games!

please explain how we could ever compete with that?

Which goes back to the comment I made in a thread a while ago, fuck Scum, Arse, Liverpool & Cheleas off into a Euro league.

Fine by me - but we'll have to get used to a lot less Sky money pretty sharpish and the quality of the football is likely to slide.

The quality of the football?

The next step down for us is pub league anyway.

Once the top clubs have their squads sorted our league would get the pick of the rest, paid for with whatever was in the pot. Just like we do now. But its currently a big pot, a huge pot even, meaning average players earn vast sums yet can still only kick with one foot. Even the most mediocre Prem footballer can become a millionaire with just one 3 year contract. And for that he wont be able to head, pass, and tackle. Oh no. He'd be a milionaire in a year if he could turn his hand to all 3 basic talents.

So if an average player wages has to go down to a miserly ?5000 a week because the TV deals would be lower then my heart bleeds for them, it really does.

It's like when Serie A was the top league in the 80's

You were told how high the quality of football was - but dear me, it was dog-sh?t to watch

It's about the competitive element, at the moment 38 0-0's is a 'success' and we can never aspire to more

Quality?

I watched a bit of that lot and the Arse yesterday in the Dukes Gate with a load of neverbins and it was shite. A header apiece in the first half before Holtsheimers set in on me.

They were lucky to get nil, the pair of 'em.
