Gordon Brown

Feel sad for her loss, but feel sorry for Brown on this...I don't believe he would take anything more serious than sending that kind of letter.

He even rings her up to personally apologise and gets pulled apart for that too. Your damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Then because he didnt bow his head he's getting stick for that? Come on please...

As mentioned above, its poor taste form of journalism and to seemingly use her grief to score political points is pretty low. I'd quite like to see the other parties show some kind of support to the bloke on this one.

Imagine the outrage if David Blunkett had sent it with a paw print at the bottom.

The Sun is a cunt. They're the only ones here who deserve a complete and total shellacing.

Brown's a bit thick and insensitive, but overall had good intentions, so he doesn't deserve to be torn apart for it.

The Mother is beyond criticism bearing in mind the circumstances, but I think she might look back once the dust has settled and think she was brash, and naive over The Sun's intentions. I don't particularly see why she felt the need to tape the phone call - which the PM didn't have to make - either.

The Sun in classic fashion has taken the death of a young lad and the grief of a ulnerable mother and decided to make cheap political capital out a completely non-political matter. As a result, their offices should be burnt down.

I agree with what you say Maggie, but sadly, it'll still be the largest selling daily newspaper in the country tomorrow. What does it say about the readers of the paper.................

I think The Sun has scored a massive own goal here from what I've heard on the radio/watching tv. I don't want to sound like a scouser but you'd hope that the newspaper readers vote with their feet!

To coin a phrase

Retard reading for retards

indeed, but the people who read it will always say "......yeah but it's good for the sport..." - which it isn't anyway.

Can I record telephone conversations on my home phone?

Yes. The relevant law, RIPA, does not prohibit individuals from recording their own communications provided that the recording is for their own use. Recording or monitoring are only prohibited where some of the contents of the communication - which can be a phone conversation or an e-mail - are made available to a third party, ie someone who was neither the caller or sender nor the intended recipient of the original communication. For further information see the Home Office website where RIPA is posted.

Do I have to let people know that I intend to record their telephone conversations with me?

No, provided you are not intending to make the contents of the communication available to a third party. If you are you will need the consent of the person you are recording.

Now I'm not a lawyer but it sounds to me as if this woman has broken the law. Obviously they couldnt prosecute her as it would give more licence to the Sun (and others).

You sicken me. (but also made me laugh at the same time!)
