Biff, why do the older folk at the match (not you!) tend to be the most grumpy? They just seem set in their ways and shout the same abuse they've been shouting probably since the 60s.

The game has changed massively, watch a game even from the 90s and it's just totally different. The rules change annually, formations and tactics evolve, the fact that players are as fit as any other professional sportsman rather than just "good at football" has also had an impact, the pace of the game and the attributes needed to contend with that. Also your modern day football fan is far better informed, from reading bollocks like this to watching former players and managers analyse games ad infinitum.

Some old bloke near us repeatedly tells the players to "run around a bit". Should they have some form of entrance exam?

You are right in what you say Carlos. I think it is because you enjoy watching football more when you are younger. I'm sure that today's footballers (some of them) are just as good if not better than those I first watched but nobody is better than your first heroes or idols. Also as you grow older you become more resistant to change. Eeh the good old days.

WSU - Sat in front of a guy who should put in an application for the managers job, as he obviously knew it all, and left of a bloke who spent most of his time calling Muamba useless.

Bloke behind also seemed under the impression that Chunhg Yong Lee was Chinese.

Lass near me kept calling him special Fried rice/Egg Foo yung/chicken chow mein and anyother chinese dish you'd care to name. Until a bloke a few seats down got fed up and screamed 'HE'S NOT FUCKING CHINESE HE'S KOREAN! KOREAN!' at her

The nsl was like a funeral wake on saturday, their was loads their but none talking or cheering.

When I pointed out it was supposed to be the singing end I got a frosty response (get it)

The only noise they made is to boo the lads off at half time. I feel I dont know these fans

anymore and long for the Burnden park days when we all had a common cause.

Now we have a hardcore of people who are not happy with anywhing the club or the team do.

Football to me is a great day out and if we win thats a massive bonus, so I wish these

unhappy people would just lighten up . =D> =D>
