Sitting Somewhere New

Featured Replies

Couldnt get me season ticket seat int ESL today so was sat elsewhere, ended up next to a lass who clapped all the way through the game like a sea lion and was convinced everytime she went to the toilet we would score so she kept nipping off every 10 mins! It were ok for a change certainly a bit different from the usual matchday, Anyone have any good/bad experiences today being somewhere new

EDIT: and said lass also thought Roy Evans would be a belting choice for manager

Is Megson comfort eating since he lost his job?

Thought Klasnic was Taylor and thought Muamba should be bombing forward. Maybe!

I usually sit in ESL but occasionally I go and sit with my friend in the West lower. This season there's a woman who sits behind her who's really annoying. She screams at the players all through the match, but she doesn't even know what she's talking about - just likes the sound of her own voice. I think somebody will probably deck her before the end of the season.

Sat right behind the goal in NSL.

twas deathly quiet only broken by people whinging when we humped it forward and then again when we passed it around.

To be fair the lass was totally encouraging towards the team and even a mis placed pass was greeted with an "unlucky" and a "come on whites" in while she were clapping thrown in. In contrast went for a piss at half time and some fella were moaning that we couldnt beat an egg and we couldnt beat Chorley reserves,

Sat east lower, next block along from the yoof. Couldn't understand that they all sit down at half time.

usually sit near the corner under the screen, but we were further along towards the Ha;f way line today, was good apart from a kid sat in front of me, up & down like fuckin zebedee, either to go downstairs, or look at what the lincoln fans were doin!

Sat further forward than normal in NSL.

Some fella said we were all hypocrites for not booing Klasnic's substitution, after all 'He hasn't done anything for the last 3 matches' and also a couple who moaned that they felt too low down, compared to their seats in the NSU.

had a ticket for ESL row F, 240ish - sat there for a minute then swapped to similar seat on the opposite side of the half way line, then sat in out original seats in the 2nd half - thus we were closer to the goal we were attacking each half - quality!!!

Had tickets behind the goal at the back of the lower tier of the NSL. But sat in our own seats near the corner with the WSL, as did a few of our 'special neighbours'.

They booed at half time, and every time we got a corner bursted into a rendition of 'we never score from a corner'.

Oh how we laughed. Suppose they can't help it.

A different bloke than usual was sat behind me. He had his radio on with commentary of the match. He turned it off after about ten minutes.

Biff, why do the older folk at the match (not you!) tend to be the most grumpy? They just seem set in their ways and shout the same abuse they've been shouting probably since the 60s.

The game has changed massively, watch a game even from the 90s and it's just totally different. The rules change annually, formations and tactics evolve, the fact that players are as fit as any other professional sportsman rather than just "good at football" has also had an impact, the pace of the game and the attributes needed to contend with that. Also your modern day football fan is far better informed, from reading bollocks like this to watching former players and managers analyse games ad infinitum.

Some old bloke near us repeatedly tells the players to "run around a bit". Should they have some form of entrance exam?

I sat next to some woman in her 50's. Fucking clueless. Clapping or shouting a good 8 or 9 seconds after everyone else and not always knowing why.

'Why does Gardner keep coming inside for the ball'

'Because thats where he's meant to be you stupid cunt'

WSU - Sat in front of a guy who should put in an application for the managers job, as he obviously knew it all, and left of a bloke who spent most of his time calling Muamba useless.

Bloke behind also seemed under the impression that Chunhg Yong Lee was Chinese.

I spent last season in NSL where I sat in front of the most boring twat in the world. He claimed for every offside; even though we we were up the opposite end of the pitch, he kept explaining to his Granny why the current tactics weren't up to much, he never missed a bloody thing.

Most annoying of all; 11 years after he joined the club, Jussi was still being pronounced with as Juicy! 11 years after joining the club!

Couldn't wait to get back to our place in WSL.

Sorry? I missed your point.

Sorry Micky, there was none, shouldn't have quoted you.

It was just a general comment on the fact that there's a better class of supporter in the WSL.
