depends who is on or what night ur going. wouldnt reccomend an open mike night, full of people who think they are funny but 99% of them are not. most other nights can be good with the occasional appearence from some recognised faces (usually trying out new material) the actual place is a bit of a dump and quite small but the bar is just at the back of the room so u dont miss anything and your in spitting distance of a few decent bars in the northern quarter.

Mind, I was very, very drunk

On my last visit there I found a bottle of Cider was 4.50 and a bottle of wine was 9.00, I was leathered!

See that tickets range from ?8 - ?15. Apart from the obvious (?7) - is there a massive difference in value from buying the cheap opposed to the dear tickets - or safer to go mid-range?

8 pound tickets are for standing only where as the more expensive ones you get a table. i was sat with my knees touching the stage. fella that plays kenny senior from phoenix nights was the mc the night i went, piss funny too

not been frog and bucket but comedy store on deansgate locks is belting. Been about 3 times in the past year, all very different acts but all very fucking funny.

Double it up with a visit to Bem Brasil restaurant just down the street and see if you can eat 20 kilos of meat beforehand. Top place

Whilst I agree that the Comedy Store is a top venue, I have to disagree about the line-up rotation. The last three times I have been, perhaps over a year and half, there has been atleast one act from the previous. Poor really.

F&B was superb last night. From the background music through compere & all 3 comedians. Highly recommend it. Not laughed so much since we sank the Belgrano! Cheesey disco at the end with a hen party from Hull hogging the dancefloor - the bride to be looked pretty decent in her white sussies to!

Food was ok, nothing special, bar snack stuff to soak up some of the ale. Plenty bar staff so hardly any queueing. Good night.
