Looks like I'm having a long weekend over there in October. Been told there's nowt there. But stuff on google suggests otherwise.

 

Quite fancy doing a bit of culture, partaaaaying and maybe some outdoor pursuits.

 

Anyone been? Recommend a decent hotel, area of the city to stay, things to do, etc.

I went back in 2007 and loved Finland and in particular Helsinki.

 

T'is true there isn't that much to do (similar in size to Amsterdam)I stayed in Scandic Simonkentt? (4 star) its well positioned to the main square about 200 yards away. drinks are expensive about 7euros a bottle in Clubs. Plenty of shops,bars and restaurants. If you are there longer than a couple of days i would reconmend a trip from the harbour on a boat. You can also get to Estonia (Talinn) within 4 hours from Helsinki Port.

 

Loved it me Smiley. The city is clean and spotless and the eye candy is always a bonus

Lots of Estonian and Russian "ladies" in the nightclubs.

Went to Estonia for a long weekend with the boys, caught the ferry over to Finland, ordered five small bottled beers charged ?18, caught the same ferry back to Estonia. It's right though loads of cracking looking ladies.

Loads of fins go to Estonia because of the prices for partying.
