Got dragged up on a London theatre stage with him many years ago. Very clever with his tricks and audience banter. Don't like speaking ill of the bloke but he annoyed the hell out of people while shopping in our local supermarket. He would get Debbie to go to customer service to announce over the pa system "could Paul Daniels please call at the service desk as his wife Debbie was looking for him". This happened on many occasions. They always say to keep your name in the limelight.
Chesham Utd from the southern premier league beat MK during the week, I know it was only a county cup game but MK fielded 9 professional players, (4-4 after extra time, won on pens). If we don't get points here we won't get them anywhere.
This is a few years ago. My youngest son who played semi pro football and unfortunately suffered night terrors charged over to the elder son slapping him and shouting " don't let them score". Worst night was when he put his leg through the double glazed window shooting at goal, poor lad finished up in surgery to put together his leg which had some horrific cuts. Thankfully he recovered to continue playing.
My father in law lost his wife to cancer. The McMillan nurses were fantastic. He decided to donate an amount each month through direct debit. After two years he started to get phone calls at anytime between 8-30 & 9-30 in the evening pushing him to increase the donation, after numerous calls he stopped the direct debit altogether. Their loss.
A good few years ago a few of us did the trip over to Ypres and surrounding area to visit some of the battle fields, stood in those trenches and to see how close the enemy trenches were was unbelievable. We visited war graves even though none of us had relatives ( not known ) buried there. You can be as unemotional as you like in normal life but it brought a tear to my eyes. RIP to them all.
