PG gets a lot of hammer but refreshing to here how it is instead of guesswork from the press.

 

He said wednesday was the day of talks with Johan's agent who will know doubt want a few more grand out of the club after his season so far.

 

Johan will do what he will do but with him becoming a dad and bolton going places think he would be daft to go elsewhere especially as he's had 1 half decent season so far out of 3.

I think Gartside, despite his detractors has done most things right in getting the club where it is.

 

The only blemishes are the League Cup final debacle, and giving Sammy Lee the managers job.

 

Even the Megson appointment was succesful in keeping us up that first season despite the opposition from the fans, myself included.

 

But in sacking both Megson & Lee he did it at the right time giving us the best chance to stay up.

 

He also listened to the disatisfaction of the fans and acted upon it, fan liaison, fanzone, exciting football etc shows his ego isn't too big to listen and change.

 

So looking back with hindsight I think he has done pretty well.

No chance, these sorts of "keep calm and carry on" comments don't make juicy headlines for SSN or the back pages of The Sun.
