Blackburn And Blackpool

Featured Replies

obviously these are our next two away fixtures and we're in with an absolutely glorious chance to really hurt both of them.

We've suffered often enough at the hands of Blackburn in the last decade and we still get the 53 cup final rammed down our throats by Blackpool. Quite frankly I can't stand either of them.

I often have the impression of BWFC that they don't take these Lancashire town derbies quite as seriously as the opposition, hence our comparitively indifferent record v Blackburn (Wigan as well) in the Premier League years (they've both beaten us more than we've beaten them).

I just hope OC and the players appreciate that they need to be massively on the case for these two derbies and sharpen up their act away from home - regardless of mid-table security.

Totally agree, we need to finish the season on a high, especially if we want to attract some young ambitious new players.

Defeats by Blackburn and Blackpool and one by Man City on the last day of the season would be a terrible end to a promising season.

If we have no Sturridge then I think it will give the players the excuse not to turn up and wave the white flag.

Going by away form, we'll get fuck all from either!

We've rolled over for Fulham and Birmingham to get their staying up wins recently and i've no doubt we'll do the same at Blackburn.I think Blackpool are so poor that we'll still get something at Bloomfield Rd in the current "don't really care " away from home mode.

We will save both their premiership status' fact

Sad but true

If you're right I will be seriously f*cking annoyed with them. Good season overall or not!

Going off Blackpools home form we will spank em, it works both ways.

Hmm, I think it's debateable really. They have a lot more to play for. That said, they have leaked a lot of goals at home and some to average teams (Wigan 1 - 3). Don't underestimate how shit we are on the road though. Our last win away came on 13th November at Wolves (2 - 3), that is 5 and half months almost. Since then we have picked up one point, the draw at Newcastle.

That is a total of 4 points from 33 in our last eleven games on the road. Take Wolves out of the equation and it's 1 point from a possible 30!

Blackpool have picked up 9 from 33 at home. Infact 9 from 30. Pretty shoddy home form, granted but they have scored in every single one of their last 11 at home. Total goals at home in the 11 games is 16 (Conceded 23).

On the road, we have failed to score in 6 of the last 11. Scoring only 4 in the last 7 and then the 3 away at Wolves. Totals are scored 7, conceded 18.

Also bearing in mind, they led by 2 goals in the reverse fixture, that is something we would struggle to overcome away from home according to statistics.

Hopefully that all means nothing and we will trounce them but I doubt it.

Looking at Blackburn, they have an half decent home form (W4, D4, L3) in their last 11. Scoring 14 and conceding 9. Although, a good away support might just galvanise the team for this fixture.

Blackburn (Home) form: L D D D L W W L D W W

Boothy,

Statto for the day.

Could not win a raffle away from home but i hope both of them go down, wankers

These 2 games will both be played at 100mph and if will be blood and thunder.

A half hearted turnout by the players will only result in defeat.

With 3 local derbies in the last 4 games, for me it is all to play for and at least

should give the players "pride" to play for if nothing else.

Any news on Blackpool tickets ?

You're right. I just hope the team and the management understand that as well.
