Tickets sorted for an ODI at Sports City.

Better than going to Pakifuckingstan.

I may have to nip over there for a week or so again when it's cold over here but I'm a lazy fucker - post a link on here please with the dates

Might have to schedule a trip to India on business and spend a couple of nights in Dubai, anyone else planning a little trip?

Now then, that's where I want to spend my 40th. Thinking of doing a couple of tests, or straggling the 2nd and 3rd. Was hoping these would be back end of Feb though. Cheapest flights? Emirates, Qatar, anyone else?

I think that Etihad do some cheap deals if you book early enough, you would have to travel from LHR though.

I flew Qatar once, and it was a "dry" flight....so you might want to think about that, as it's a good 8hr flight.

The cheapest flight I ever got was with Lufthansa from LHR via Munich (or it might have been Frankfurt  ) - it was cheap as chips though, around ?300 return, and only around 2hrs stop over both ways.

For as near as direct that you can:

Etihad fly daily (this may be aboiut to increase to twice daily) from Manchester to Abu Dhabi, with a free coach transfer to Dubai (about an hour to 75 minutes to central Dubai) for roughly 100 quid less than Emirates. Great service, free drinks all the way.

Etihad have a 'City terminal' in the financial district where they drop you off. It also operates as a 24hr checkin on the way back, so you can check out of your hotel, drop your suitcases off, then fuck off to the beach with your hand luggage for the day, thereby squeezing an extra day into your holiday. When you get back to abu dhabi airport your checked in baggage goes straight through, you don't see it again until Manchester.

I flew Qatar last time I went.

Don't remember it being dry though, may have been ramadamadingdong when you went?

Tell you what, I nearly shit me knickers when the seat belt signs first went off. Just heard this massive chant of ALLAH O AKBAR from the back of the plane as the prayers started. They just wanted a good pray, but fucking hell..

Iamin.........!

The George and Dragon pub in Bur Dubai is running free coaches to and from the games, it also has the cheapest pint in Dubai at 17 dhirams. The pub is in the Ambassador Hotel if anyone wants to check it out.....
