That Ivan Campo. won the CL playing in defence too anyway, our main problems lie in midfield, and he knew what he was doing there but it won't happen, he's just being nice one ex player pissing about with the team is enough
February 15, 201214 yr I think Campo didn't make it as a CB here, not because his legs had gone per se, more down to him wanting to be a 'footballer', or to put it another way, he wanted to 'fanny around' with it in the wrong areas rather than just get rid. You can get away with that on the continent where defenders are given time on the ball, you can't get away with it in the Barclays Premier League though. David Luiz at Chelsea reminds me a LOT of a young Ivan Campo - and not just the hair. If Villas Boas plays him just ahead of Terry and Cahill, ie in the Campo role, I think he'd be a fantastic player

If Villas Boas plays him just ahead of Terry and Cahill, ie in the Campo role, I think he'd be a fantastic player Trust me, his legs were shot....you must all remember his rugby tackles as a midfielder with pace glided past him.....if he did that at the back he'd have been sent off every other week; you can get isolated 1 on 1 at the back with nothing behind you, whereas in midfield you can use the space / or lack of, to your advantage, and his reading of the game allowed success - if he'd have played at the back, you can't manage that nearly as much
