November 28, 201312 yr Author Hyde are just shite 'tis true They're just not paying enough for players, which is why they can't compete And I've been on the piss with some of their players on a Friday night....hardly conducive to winning matches at that level
November 28, 201312 yr Hence why they fix the score (and usually unlikely ones at that) rather than just the result. Say if they fix it to be 4-2 or 5-3, you could get 50-1 on that and thus would only need to bet £1000 to make your money back. Spread it around a few bookies so that the large sums don't raise any red flags and you're golden Fixing a score must be even harder To fix a score you would need at least 10 players on the pitch on board surely? If they all want £10,000 a pop then the match fixers want their taste all of a sudden you have to risk plenty of your hard earned just to break even with the bungs let alone turn a profit. Then you have the fact that too many people know about the fix and most will tell their mates who tell their mates all of a sudden their are cunts walking into bookies all over sticking £100 on a 3-8 away win. The bookies then spread the money about between themselves and before you know it the price is odds on as all the money is on the same result. We got a tip from a player at the time that Peter Reid would be our next manager (when Megson got it) and I told anyone who would listen. Before you knew after 24 hours of getting the tip his odds came in from 30/1 to 5/1 then some bookies stopped taking bets. He soon drifted and I got dogs abuse! With that in mind I just cannot see how folk are making money out of nobbling conference matches when they are paying so much in bribes. The markets are too small surely?

The video of that fixer has him promising to fix scores, although there's the (in my opinion, pretty likely) possibility that the guy was talking out of his arse trying to show off and/or fleece the guy he was talking to
