don't use too much though, breaks down protein and is great for getting large amounts of blood of carpets..

It's an old wives tale but works, apparently:

 

You need to get all the inlaws round, turn off all the lights, shut the curtains and shine a big UV lamp on it for 15 minutes or so.  Then wipe with a crusty sock or T shirt that's been whetted with spittle

Has that been proven to work irrefutably though? ;-)

 untested by myself but I reckon the spittle and sock combo could potentially make things worse . . .
