Venice Hotels

Mrs Manc booked some Monarch flights that popped up on her email on a really good deal for 4 days in May

Need to book a hotel now. Any recommendations?

Il Paradiso Perduto Is a good place to eat as well. Take a look around the Jewish ghetto.

Got the wrong one looking on the map. I meant Ostaria da Rioba which is further down.

We did Airbnb. Was good. Old style Venetian house. Sufficient for 2-3 nights.

Can't remember which hotel Mrs Manc has booked but it was a good deal on the grand canal

She's pulled a right blinder though though by booking (and paying for) a bit of culture......

Looking forward to being an opera gayster for the evening

be prepared to do a lot of walking. defo get a waterbus ticket for the time you are there, as the water taxi bastards will charge you a fucking fortune, same goes for the gondola cunts.

a trip to Moreno is well worth it and your hotel will probably put on a free boat for you to get there.

do try a spritz.

Absolutely fucking brilliant time in Venice!!!

Would definitely recommend to anyone to go

Not as expensive as you might think. Get off the tourist track, go down the side alleys, and you're looking at 5 euros for a Prosecco and a beer. As ever, drink and eat where the locals do

Paid 50 euros for breakfast in St Marks Square but that was for the experience more than anything else

Didn't really bother with the waterbus, just walked everywhere and that's how we found all the great (and cheap) restaurants and bars

Downside is it's absolutely fucking rammed by 11am as the cruise boat tours hit town and the streets are filthy by 3pm but clean as a whistle next morning

Carabinieri are people to avoid though - saw some mouthy Yanks get on the wrong side of them after too many beers
