October 11, 20178 yr Used to like The York for a 1st pint back in Bolton off the train, but it never got its custom back after a spell of being a homosexualists' place & now it suffers from karaoke. A mate once made me and another lad go in for a pint 'for a laugh' when it was flying the rainbow flag. I think he thought we'd be outraged or uncomfortable, but it was just full of old blokes stoically supping bitter in near silence, pretty much like any other old bloke pubs - there were only tiny clues to their status as gayers - such as a smattering of moustaches, gold earrings and inappropriately 'young' haircuts...
