  1. why? it will be a fact (if it does happen - and seriously hope it doesn't) shame
  2. Mate, Think what you like. I am not Amos and the more you persist with it the more you will look stupid and not me! Try Sjoerd Bosje, if you want to have my real name. (see trying to be polite and offer some sort of olive branch) - yours for you to take, if not then your problem and not mine.
  3. I know what you mean - it was an area created by the Board (with thanks from Tony Kelly's help) for the fans to watch football, talk football and anything else they wanted to do. bit like a working mans club. But, as usual a certain few on here do not appreciate what the club has done for its fans! shame, and yet they praise everything that is Gartside and Megson (how hypocritical of them!) I'll be there for my plastic bottle of fosters, a quick chat with TK and Chris (the BWSA liason officer) then off to Upper West Stand to watch the match.
  4. Did you know that Traf are the 1st 4 letters of Trafford Park (where United play!) - are you a red in disguise, are you a red in disguise?
  5. pHYSCIALLY IMPOSSIBLE. 100% BY ALL DEFINITIONS IS THE MAXIMUM ANYONE OR ANYTHING CAN GIVE! On another note - just visited the Bolton News and are you Doggydoo?
  6. well at least I explain my resaoning unlike some on here who seem to give verbal abuse, do not back it up and worst of all seem to habitually have a monotone point of view of the whites (very depressing by some on here!!!). Seems to me some on here do not know how to think individually and act like sheep be agreeing with what their leader/cohorts say no matter what. Shame - and yet I'm called boring, at least I have differing points of view and challenge viewpoints - now that is debating not just saying yes, yes and yes!
  7. I know who you mean as I also read the comments on the Bolton News forum, but sorry Mingediver its not me. I don't even live in Holland. I am DutchWhites as my name is a Dutch name.
  8. ITS YOU WHO SAID THAT not me!!! For all I know they could be giving 100% effort and attainment. I know I strive to give 100% everyday at work and succeed as much as possible - and that is what I believe in.
  9. Please explain 100% when physically speaking the MAXIMUM anything and anyone can give is 100% The true meaning being: 100% means mathematically the entirety or all of something. so again how can anyone or anything give 100% when all is being done already?
  10. well lets put it this way I cannot over achieve as 100% is the maximum anyone or anything can give. therefore I am on a level playing field as I strive to give 100% and would not be were I am now if I didn't give my best MOST of the time. Plus the training I received early on in my career and the ongoing training I receive now is about maximising my strength to push my goals, through putting my training into live work, and create more opprotunities for myself - but as I say how can anything or anyone give more than 100%. Over-achieve is completely non-existant in real life and only those who under-perform believe in it. Isn't that actually called pessimism!! Seems to me that there are a few on here that are pessimistic about the football and thus find excuses as to why we our in our current position and as such use the term that we over-achieved, rather than saying that our players were fantastically managed, fanstically trained and most of all were optimistic about the games they played.
  11. So at work do you over-achieve or under-achieve compared to people around you?
  12. It was the press that coined the phrase the Big Four! So in other words you believe all the hype that the press and the PR departments of these teams dish out and not realistically look at your own team. In other words you have no dream of being up there are happily resoluted to being mid-table fodder with little success? Are you a Bolton fan or not? Are you a football fan or not? All football fans want the dream of success either by winning the League or winning the cups. No real football fan is happy with mid-table mediocrity!
  13. HOw can a team over achieve when players play to the best abilities and try to give 100% each time and only follow the instructions to what they are given by the manager. In other words what you are trying to say is that Sam Allardyce (under our recent Golden Era) was an excellent manager who could command best performances most of the time and succeed whilst, unfortunately, Megson does not have the same calibre and unfortunately our postion in the current league is basically down to his lack of management training skills - and to save face and humiliation of our current situation, people say that we over-achieved under Big Sam. And its vice versa with regards to Spurs. Number of fans does have a slight impact in that its the turnover and money made from the gates that is higher than ours (depending on how much more or less a ticket costs) but that then returns to the question I asked, "Apart from money (rememeber having lots of money does not automatically mean success, I mean look at ourselves under the wonder of Gartside and Allardyce - spent little but best era since the 1950's and UEFA Cup TWICE!!!) why shouldn't we compare ouselves to Spurs - both going through a period of change with fans having mixed reactions (both positive and negative)?"
  14. because there is no blatantly obvious thats why!
  15. Here you go, straight from The Indepdent, although the figures are from January 2008, as I am unable to do a quick search for this season so far.... Numbers game: Who's on the up (and who isn't) this season Figures show current average attendance for each club and percentage difference on same period last season Aston Villa 39,901/Up 12% Manchester City 42,209/Up 9% Blackburn Rovers 23,172/Up 8% Fulham 22,952/Up 7% Wigan Athletic 18,515/Up 3% Newcastle Utd 50,985/Up 2% Tottenham 35,878/Up 1% Portsmouth 19,894/Up 1% Man Utd 75,612/Same (virtually full) Arsenal 60,053/Same (virtually full) Chelsea 41,660/Same (99% capacity) West Ham Utd 34,582/Same (97%) Liverpool 43,554/Same (96%) Everton 37,063/Same (91.7%) Reading 23,465/Down 2% Middlesbrough 27,023/Down 4% Bolton Wanderers 20,062/Down 13% Sunderland 42,695/Up 51% Derby County 32,136/Up 35% Birmingham City 26,153/Up 25%
  16. Like the reasoning - "Its fucking ridiculous" In other words you cannot think of a reason, right?
  17. Apart from money (rememeber having lots of money does not automatically mean success, I mean look at ourselves under the wonder of Gartside and Allardyce - spent little but best era since the 1950's and UEFA Cup TWICE!!!) why shouldn't we compare ouselves to Spurs - both going through a period of change with fans having mixed reactions (both positive and negative?
  18. Sounds like Johnny Fold or even Top O'th Brow on a quiet night!
  19. Has been since long before Hargreaves and Warburton! You've only just realised
  20. Well we all know that Gartside and Allardyce were not the best of friends - in fact they were not even talking that much to each other when he left! (that is well known) A Gentlemans agreement is not worth anything, tbh, and as such should never be taken as granted. (as some people would ask on here - is there any proof of a Gentlemans Agreement or any other agreement or its it just urban myth as one needs to find an excuse) Its like if I owe you money and I create a Gentlemans agreement promising to pay you back but I never do.
  21. Sam did not rip the guts out of the backroom staff. He offered them jobs- some took the offer some stayed and some went onto other clubs. Its the same routiune when a amanger leaves. The same will happen again when Megson leaves (the same happened when Lee left) and so on - its the nature of the business they are in. Also do not forget that most of Sams backroom staff had followed him previously from other managerial roles. If you were offered a decent job with decent pay by a previous manager you enjoyed working for would you just laugh at them or would you consider it? Its the real world. There is no rule to say that when a manager leaves he has to leave the backroom staff behind. So why are most people so hard on Big Sam for doing what any other manager would do?
  22. He literally takes us out of a fantastic EUROPEAN cup run (in our 50th year of us last winning a major trophy). He took a club that end of previous season was 8th, in UEFA. Yes he joined a club in turmoil, ala Sammy lee, but with the players there we should have easily stayed up and this season with strengthening the squad in a couple of areas 9instead of a mass clearout) we could have easily been vying for a Europa League spot! Yes his job, last season was to stay up and that he just about did with the skin of his teeth - his job this season was ti improve on that position - by the way its going are we going to be doing that? We currentlt sit on the same number of points as we finished last season - is that an improvement compared to Big Sam's second season in charge (as for reference as a previous post did use him as an argument tool)? If anything Megson is a great Championship manager with the qualities of getting teams into the PL BUT he is not cut out for the PL, it is just a bitt too much of a strech for him?
  23. lets see your stats to dis-prove it (if you think you are that confident that I cannot produce the goods!) - in other words double dare (if you want to play childish games) EDIT: I was a bit harsh above - apologies but do you or I actually ahve the tiome to sift through decades worth of records to either prove or disprove a statement. It is a statement of heart felt opinion - this is were we all differ as we all have different opinions. So does one have to be proven right or wrong, does one have to try to embarrase another for fun (which in threads you try vto do with many people). Are you really that brave behind a computer screen and could you say that to a person face to face Take it as an opinion and live and let live. You are only here for a short time, so why waste it trying to belittle others?
  24. I never said that it never happened before but it is happening more and more under Megson - why??? (the ratio does seem higher whilst Megson has been in charge - for the length of period he has been in charge) But there again reality (and plain hard not difficult to find facts) seems to be a concept that by-passes you every minute of the day!
  25. I do, but I must admit I did say British because we had two managers, at least, in the past that were not English but were definitely not from outside th British Isles
