  1. Orient early 90s..went down on midnight train & hit Borough Market for an early mornin drink.....pissed down all day
  2. Summed up perfectly Mickey, thank you
  3. Im afraid Megson used the early behaviour of the bedsheet brigade as an excuse far too often & in doing so alienated a lot of fans by tarring us all with the same brush.... Bottom line is he was the manager & should have been doing everything possible to give his team an edge, whether by trying to get the fans onside (which wasnt the impossible task some might have you believe) & certainly not by bigging up the opposition before every game. The man lacked nous, had little people skills & had feck all humility for a very average manager who hit the lottery in even getting near the premiership again given his track record
  4. Mark Hughes but more realistically Billy Davies
  5. To be fair he does keep giving people ammunition by harping back... If we were in the top half of the table then fair enough but we are 18th. 2yrs on & still in the relegation zone, albeit with a much better squad
  6. I wouldnt mind seeing him spraying passes for us until May... just wondering what others think?
  7. I dont believe it would have been wise to play 442 until Lee & Klasnic got to the pace of the premier league. Now that theyve found their feet I think (hopefully} it will give the manager more options & his masterplan will come to fruition!
  8. Klasnic is what we have been short of since superjohn, his 1st thought when recieving the ball is to get a shot on goal & doesnt let missing a few phase him.... class act IMO
  9. I Think it was one of Megsons better decisions... the lad needed a fresh chalenge & we needed the cash
  10. Was at Hopkys testimonial ,though was only 8 at time...seem to remember Eusabio hittin post & it seemin to shake for bout 5 mins....aaahh the vivid imagination of the young!!!
  11. I think its been there for anyone to see that Elmander has struggled a bit this season, some of this due to 1st season in prem & some due to lack of fitness thru injury. The lad was quoted at more than double what we paid for him at one time & that has probably led to a bit of over expectation of his abilities. I woud hope anyone watching him this season has been able to see that he does try & he does care, even if things havnt really happened for him Personally im not convinced he has what it takes to make it in the prem but given that the system we have had to use doesnt really suit him ( & 1 or 2 others) & the fact that the coaching staff seem to acknowledge this & are intent on strengthening where necessary i'm hopeful of a better showing from him next season. I can be as negative as anyone at times (38yrs watchin BWFC takes its toll !! ).... However as much as ive had doubts about Megson & will never forgive Gartside for the Carling cup ticket fiasco, we have to keep the faith & theres enough fookwits out there ready to knock the club we love without us adding to it, so please by all means grumble over a pint, come on here & let off steam but try & keep off the players & managers back on matchday, it helps no-one but our enemies
  12. Best one i heard in wsl was some cock calling youri a lazy bastard!!!.... what do they watch??
  13. Can we therefore assume Elmander leaves all his good work on the training ground?
  14. Just a little puzzled as to why he virtually shipped him stright off the plane to play out of position against the Arsenal & then ignored him for months... obviously took a lot of time in deciding he wasnt what he wanted.... NOT
  15. What about Wellbeck at Manure? Down the pecking order with the arrival of the Italian kid on the scene. Might be worth a try at the right prce
  16. Woudnt we be better off finding a 2nd striker!!!
  17. Smolarek??
  18. I think Elmander is another example of a Megson signing with no great forethought as to how to get the best out of him. Surely if a club of our size is going to spend that much money on him then he should have been the focal point? Square pegs & round holes spring to mind!!
  19. The young lad Moses at Palace gets my vote...
