First game - 1989 Sherpa Van Trophy Final vs. Torquay United, a 4-1 win over Torquay enabled Phil Brown to lift the cup at Wembley. Goalscorers that day were Julian Darby, Dean Crombie, Trevor Morgan and Jeff Chandler. I was 8 years old......happy days !!

LEG END.....nuff said !!

Isn't Owen out ??? A munich mate reckons Welbeck and Macheda up front........
-
I cannot wait to for the game tomorrow, i don't think i've ever realistically thought we were going to win at Old Stratford, dispite seeing them win on two occasions there......until now. I know my previous post says we will lose 2-0 but there's alot of optimism on the forum and its changed my mind...... Come on the WHITES !!! New prediction 0 - 1 scrappy Davies tap-in from a crowded corner, 63 mins.....Jussi to have a stormer !!
-
Err not that i'm aware of......but who knows in this day and age....

I just think football is turning more and more into X-Factor where its entirely based on popularity rather than substance. On a personal note, I've been plagued by this all my life, i was cursed at a young age by some hideous gypsy and now i look like the love child of Iain Dowie and Luke Chadwick. which is why my rant is based purely out of jealousy for Mr Beckham and the X-Factor hopefuls......

How did Beckham get MOM last night?? 30 mins of football, didn't really do too much, passed to SWP and thats about it. Surely freaky should have been awarded this, having scored 2 goals.... An also the media are saying that he assisted Freaks for his secong goal, i thought that was Cole???

Yes I would agree Clattenberg is argueably the best referee in Prem at the moment, but do you think in this multi billion pound industry the referee's final decision whether correct or incorrect is still the way forward?? Not sure whether a video referee is the alternative but when teams can get bankrupted over a dodgy decision maybe a change is required.....
-
Me thinks 2 - 0 to the Scum..... But all the attention for the game to be on one Mr Clattenberg. Also reckon they will get a pen.

Does anybody think that Megson should make a comment about the referee before Saturdays game? Either a positive comment towards the ref and referee's in general, negative comment about the same, or no comment at all. The reason I am asking this question is that already the papers, of which I mean the Bolton News is already commenting on the referee for Saturday's game, i'd also wager that MOTD, SSN and every other football related program will probably have a referee watch / cam just on our game, scrutinising every decision throughout the match. Whatever the result the referee's performance will over shadow the game, whether that is due to a decision he makes / does not make or time keeping at the end of the game.

If we are going back to former whites then what about Mario Jardel, he's a proven goal scorer at the highest level.....maybe worth another punt......OR MAYBE NOT !!
-
John Bishop is absolutely hilarious live, like you said just a funny person who can adlib as well as performing scripted jokes. Rhod Gilbert, despite being Welsh, is also very very funny live.....

Completely agree NB, if 'The Sun' sells an extra 50,000 copies because of their coverage of last nights festivities then he'll be laughing all the way to the bank, I doubt his moral high ground stance is entirely related to violence but more towards selling newspapers.
-
Did anybody else catch SSN this morning and the newspaper round up?? They had Shaun Custis from 'The Sun' and he was going on about the events at Upton park last night. He also added that films such as 'The Football Factory' and 'Green Street' were to blame as its glamorises football violence, does anybody else agree with Shaun's comments??

I agree, Leeds could well be saying this to up his transfer value. But if he scores 25+ goals in League One and they get promoted in the long-term this would be better for club then receiving ?5-6 million for him now and not getting promoted.
-
Beckford only has 1 year left on his contract but Leeds have said they are prepared to let this run down and let him go at the end of the season on a free transfer. They see him as a major player in push for automatic promotion, they will not sell him for this reason. So whether or not he would be a good signing is irrelevant as he will not be sold.

If You Could Have One Player Back..............

Youri......without him no Jay Jay, no Hierro, no Campo, and worst of all no Jardel !! -
He only has one season left on his contract, he handed in a transfer request last summer but nobody made an offer. IMO ?2.5 million is too much, he is a proven goalscorer at League One level only. Maybe worth a punt at ?1 million but no more.

Yes.....we've had crap managers in the past and i'm sure we will have in the future and that won't affect my support of the club. Also you forgot to highlight.....Will fans stop going force the club to sack Megson / change the way we play?......sorry for pointing that out.

Watch the film 'In Bruges' should tell you everything you need to know about the place.......

2 - 0.......Davies and Davis with a Red Card for Ferdinand. 23,245 -
Just signed a new three year contract according to the bbc.

Not sure about that seeing as though Bodde was injured on 21st Nov 2008 so the majority of last season he didn't play, however I do agree in previous seasons he has been touted as a good potential signing.
