All sensible ideas. Particularly scrapping categories and having cash turnstiles. You can't underestimate the Freedman factor. The last two seasons have been a write off. I actually think the missing supporters will be back when our league position improves. I don't see the need to panic about it. If we were top of the league and only pulling in the sort of crowds we're getting now, i'd be more worried.

Aren't they just relying on season ticket holders to do their job for them though? Why not offer a discount to the season ticket holder if they bring a friend, if that friend then buys a full price ticket for another match? Otherwise it's just giving a cheap ticket to someone who doesn't really have any vested interest in the club.

We have a hard core of support that's generally better than any other club in the area bar Utd and City. Those supporters will go week in, week out. Then there's those who'll go if we're doing well. Just like every other club. When we're challenging at the top end of the league, they'll be back. If you think otherwise, i'd love to know what you're basing that theory on.

Whether you think it's 'acceptable' or not is irrelevant. We're operating in an area with more professional football clubs than almost anywhere else in Europe, including one of the world's biggest. Support for any team in the area is bound to be limited for those reasons alone and that's before you start examining other factors. For some reason you seem to think that we should be an exception to this.
