  1. we've had 2 scottish mangers on the trot think i'd rather have a change.
  2. i doubt many of you will remember this player...doug holden...he's 84 today..one of bolton's all time greats..he played in the 1950s and early sixtys...he was a member of one of boltons greatest forward lines of 5 internationals.doug .holden (7)..willie moir 8 lofthouse (9)...harold hassall (10)..bobby langton (11)..happy birthday to you doug..any chance of you pulling on your boots again..we need some help. to our wonderfull chairman..don't forget to send him a card.
  3. i could never understand why dougie left crystal palace...everything was rosy and going well..was he frightened they would be promoted and then come back down because he wasn't good enough to keep them up..did he see himself as owen coyle..he took burnley up but they would have been relegated even if coyle hadn't jumped ship...if you listen to their after match comments they are identical..total crap...what we need is another scottish manager...surely the good lord wouldn't give us another duff one..he is supposed to be mercifull.
  4. footballers in those days were more likely to roll up in a ford pop
  5. i used to watch bolton play at the dell....long before KDs time..saw terry paine get sid farimond sent off..sid tackled him and as terry got up he back heeled sid in the head...sid got up and made a fist ref saw him and sent him off..as they walked off at half time roy hartle put his arm round terry and had a word with him..he never came into the bolton half again...jimmy greaves always reckoned roy was the hardest defender he ever played against.
  6. i used to go there back in the late fifties and sixties...saw jimmy greaves head a corner from point blank range at goal..turned to celebrate only for hoppy to tip it over the bar..greatest save i've ever seen..few mins later he was chasing the ref all the way back to the centre circle shouting at him cos he had pissed him off..probably been sent off nowadays...they were fun to watch then..lots of charactors...today it's just 11 guys running on the pitch wearing a bolton shirt..perhaps the fun will return one day.

As has been mentioned the Fat Controller wouldn't want him back nor do ithink he would want to come...Sam likes to have money to spend or pay high wages..he left cos Eddie wouldn't shell out anymore dosh...the current state of affairs here wouldn't suit him...was he a good manager...he's had quite a few ex bolton players on his books and where has it got him...perhaps he is good and our players are bad..i'll let you judge that.
  8. surely the coaching staff should notice this and work with him to help him improve...nowt seems to be happening yet.
  9. not something i would advise you to do...can be detrimental to your health.
  10. Been a bolton supporter for many moons.so i thought i'd join up and see what's happening...first game i saw was back in 48 away to chelsea...drew 2-2...things have changed a bit..can't see that happening now but can hope things will improve in the near future.
