  1. Who was that fat bastard? A-L-E, X-E-I, S-A-Y-L-E
  2. That looks like a pre-plasticated Pamela Anderson to me, responsible for many a sore wrist and my poor eyesight
  3. Use to have some religious nut jobs living next door to me, so if they gave me any hassle I'd play the track Black Sabbath loud enough for them to hear,!!!
  4. Wasn't even an itch in me father's trousers at that time. Got into Northern Soul because one of the best record shops I've ever been to is run by a bit of a Northern Soul DJing legend, Rob Smith of Rob's Records in Nottingham.
  5. That got my foot tapping after the first bar. Challenge accepted old bean...
  6. This was regarded as a Northern Soul classic and heavily played at The Wigan Casino or The Twisted Wheel during the 70s Northern Soul Scene. The scene is still going strong apparently and somebody recently payed around £100,000 for a rare demo copy of Frank Wilson's Do I Love You
  7. They did some quality stuff over the short time they were around, some of Adam Ant's solo stuff was pretty decent too. Remember when I was pre-teen my middle brother bought me two compilation albums I still love even now, Complete Madness by Madness and The Collection by Ultravox. This was the same brother who a couple of years later also bought me the films Scum and The Warriors on VHS, even though I was nowhere near 18 years of age.
  8. Was never really into early Ants for some reason, but as soon as Kings Of The Wild Frontier came out, I was hooked (Or was it Dog Eat Dog that came out first?)
  9. Beat My Guest and Fall Out definately, Christian D'Or wasn't bad either
  10. Some b-sides were flipped over and became the lead track Gloria Jones' My Bad Boy's Coming Home ((Champion) 14005) was hiding this little gem...
  11. Back in the day I think they cared a lot about b-sides, I've heard some stonkers by the likes of The Move (Disturbance), The Who (Doctor Doctor) and Black Sabbath (The Wizard) etc, but as time went in they kind of went down the lazy route by putting on alternative or instrumental mixes
  12. I actually prefer this to the Stooges original, as good as it is
  13. Ooops my bad and David Bowie too And although I've never been a massive fan of theirs, add Queen to the list
  14. Can only think of The Beatles, The Stones, T.Rex and Slade who had b sides that were as good if not better than the a sides.
  15. Two good films on one after another on freeview, at the moment it's Manhunter and after that The Krays
  16. Ah yes the old 'Last turkey in the shop' look In that survey on here I voted for the Charlie Chaplin, don't mind a bit of fanny fluff but don't want my teeth flossing every time I go down on a woman
  17. I was born during the Glam Rock era, so missed out on all that 70s hairy pie
  18. You mean for Shakermaker, definately. There were a couple of copyright issues regarding Oasis, Stevie Wonder was credited as co-writer of Step Up due to the similarity of Wonder's Uptight (Everything's All Right), and Neil Innes was credited as co-writer for the song Whatever due to the similarity of Innes' How Sweet It Is To Be An Idiot.
  19. You've got to admit though that run of 10 T.Rex singles from Ride A White Swan (October 1970) to The Groover (June 1973) were something special
  20. A lot of musicians borrowed from their musical idols...
  21. You have a great taste in music Electric Warrior, The Slider and Tanx are the holy trinity of T.Rex albums
  22. And now over to Alan Hansen for his in depth analysis
