  1. Karacan's Mrs is newly pregnant. Would imagine that could mean he is looking to move back to the north west.
  2. And so another day of refreshing WW commences.
  3. Please could you elaborate - are we looking like things are sorted with Ken and EDT?
  4. A lot of negativity on here this morning - It sounded last night like we were on the verge of things being done; surely we should remain cautiously optimistic?
  5. He also looks about ten years younger!
  6. Sorry - I think Sluffy has boxed this one off but just to confirm; it was an update Alan Nixon posted less than an hour ago.
  7. Don't believe this has been shared on here yet: FOOTBALL VENTURES are close to sealing a deal to save Bolton Wanderers — thanks to superfan Mike James. The protracted bid for the club and hotel is on the verge of going ahead, with insiders revealing James will become the leading backer of the FV offer. Local property developer James, a secured creditor, will have his company’s debt of £5.5million returned from the sale of the club hotel. And James is set to take out a £3.75m stake in FV — despite having preferred to stay a background figure in his years helping the club. Football Ventures intend to take the hotel based on staged payments. While a rival offer by a Manchester-based property tycoon is also on the table. This group, who have former Preston player Brian O’Neil in charge of the football side of the bid, have yet to show proof of funds to the club administrators. There is great distrust between O’Neil’s group and administrator Paul Appleton — who has been pushing the FV proposal despite its problems with finance and adding a PFA loan to fund the purchase. Previous moves were blocked as FV were the preferred bidders — although talks resumed at the weekend — as yet without agreement. Appleton threatened to start the liquidation process on Wednesday, yet that was badly received by some of the club’s creditors and he has since adjusted his stance.
  8. Has there been any update since the "stalemate"? My head is spinning with this we could literally be less than 24 hours away from liquidation. Alternatively is it a realistic possibility either MJ, FV or a "rival" put the money in to keep us alive?
  9. My personal opinion is, and has been throughout this process, that Alan Nixon has been fed information from a rival party with the sole purpose of dismantling confidence in the bid of FV. I am cautiously optimistic with what some of you are saying on here in that things are moving in the right direction. Would be brilliant for this to be sorted today once and for all
  10. I don't think many of us are disputing the existence of a second bidder for the hotel. What is disputed is that Nixon seems to refute claims that FV had agreed a deal for the hotel. Mr Appleton explicitly said that a deal was agree for both entities.
  11. Iles has said that talks are progressing well. Fingers crossed for an announcement today.
  12. I am also sick of it - just thought on a day like today, it was worth adding on here.
  13. At this stage, would there even be time for another party? Would they have the time to agree deals with secured creditors etc? My head's spinning with this I can't even fathom what could happen come Wednesday.
  14. Anyone else concerned that if the Kamani backed group get the hotel, that they won’t want the club and we either a) end up in liquidation or b) we end up with Bassini?
  15. I don't to name drop the individual I have in my mind, in case it's the incorrect name. Bassini mentions it at some point after about 15-20mins in. Sorry to be pedantic, I just wouldn't want to mention a name and it turn out not to be that individual.
  16. I haven't got round to watching the full Bassini video, only the first 30 minutes or so. Bassini went at length to discuss that he made a better offer to creditors, at 100p in the £. What he didn't mention was the date that this offer was made. I assume it was made after the date in which the administrators stated they needed best and final offers, but like I say, the date of his offer was not said. I still don't fully understand why anyone would offer 100p in the £, when its widely known that FV's offer gets nowhere near that level. Effectively, he was stating that Macron claimed they had never been shown Bassini's offer. Again though, if this offer was after the cut off point, then I would imagine that is why. It does still amaze me that FV's preferred bidders status has not yet been revoked. It must have something to do with the £1m that FV injected. What interested me more was the mention of Keir Gordon, and Bassini's claim that he was also approached to pay this £1m, and that this would be key in securing the club. If we take that on face value, it would appear that whoever paid that, had a one way ticket to acquiring the club. I can understand why someone would not want to pay that outright, given the risk involved. Could someone clarify what todays judge decision being released is in regards to? It's the first I have seen or heard about it.
  17. I don't believe he had the required funds at the time of the SPA. Mr Bassini openly admitted he had not even performed due diligence on the club in detail, at the time of the SPA being signed. His actions are clearly questionable, but to me they appear to be more of the actions of a man so desperate to prove himself once again. Everyone, quite rightly has their own opinion on him. Perhaps its me being a bit of a melt, but I look for the positives in the situation, and I do believe he wanted to clear his name and demonstrate he could take a football club forward. The real issue, as we all know, is funding and whether he has, or doesn't have it. For what its worth, I struggle to fathom why Mr Sullivan would associate himself in this sort of a transaction, if Bassini truly was as bad as what has been stirred in the media. I don't want to go on a war path about this, as I am acutely aware I will come across as if I want Bassini to own the football club - of which I don't. However, there are always two sides to every story. If he did not have the funding - I can not see why a businessman, would put themselves out there like this. Yes, he could be crackers, but I do think there is more to this. I don't like the actions of the club administrators. They jumped into bed with FV at the earliest opportunity, and despite indications time and time again of funding issues, and the fact their business plan is entirely reliant on the acquisition of the Hotel, have not revoked their preferred bidders status. It just doesn't sit right with me. I can't wait for this to be over, but the longer it goes on, the more I can not see FV getting the hotel. For those who were asking about Sullivan and Talksport, I think the below is what you may be referring to. Apologies if not: https://talksport.com/football/571967/west-ham-fans-david-sullivan-simon-jordan-laurence-bassini-bolton-takeover/
  18. I am not a Bassini fan, at all, but I don't understand why there is so much criticism over the source of Bassini's "money" if it even exists. If it is indeed Sullivan, he has a far greater pot than FV. Everyone is so quick to jump on LB, when in reality, FV have demonstrated throughout this entire process that liquidity is a real issue. am I saying I want Bassini in? No, absolutely not. However, it does frustrate me the different stances taken on the respective purchasers on areas such as financing, when the reality of the matter is Football Ventures hardly are inspiring confidence when it comes to financial clout, with the entirety of their business plan revolving around the acquisition of the hotel, in order to raise further capital. Perhaps some of this is down to the reporting of events, and people going with what some media outlets have gone with, i.e FV are the preferred party to complete here. All of this may not be relevant if Mr Bassini does not even have the funds, but lets be frank here in that our clubs "preferred bidders", hardly inspire confidence either at present.
  19. The one question I want him to answer is did he go for the hotel and why hasn't he got it, if he has the funds he claims.
  20. Thanks Benny - I didn't realise they had investments outside of the fast fashion realm (ignoring the prior weeks acquisition). The bit that raises my scepticism is that, their interest came out, I believe, after the so called "best and final" football club offers were meant to be placed. While of course, they may have offered, and we simply do not know this, but at face value the timings would suggest that their primary interest could be simply the hotel. On the other hand, they could be using the hotel as a back door route into the club but the timings do increase my scepticism.
  21. I always thought they could get the hotel with a worse offer, as they wanted the club, unlike rivals. As you've said that can't happen, I am really fearful now. They might not even have the resources needed to match the other offer in which case, it doesn't sound good at all
  22. Consider me worried. Thanks for that clarification
  23. I think, like a few have said, the message is painfully clear. FV need to make their offer a better one. I assume they think with a deal for the club almost done, that perhaps they wouldn't have to match the rival offer considering the Kamani family don't want the football club (if they are the rival party). Not an expert in this area - so not sure whether Quantuma could actually accept a lower offer for hotel creditors, on the basis of keeping the club alive. I can see what FV are doing and their rationale behind it, but it's getting a bit too fine a line for me. They need to just get this wrapped up. The club is being battered in the process
