Right, everyone one here knows i dont rate him. Just wanna know why "others" think he is so good? Not gonna "slag" off your opinion, everyone is entitled to one.

Ps this is the only football chat of the day.

The formation Sam plays (Defensive midfielders) relies heavily on the two full backs getting up and down the pitch and overlapping the right midfielders at every opportunity.

 

I know Bruno, Tal Ben and probably Barness are all better full backs but will they do a better job going forward. I don't think so. Sometimes his crossing is woeful but at least he does get past the halfway line unlike Barness and Bruno.

 

Hunt does loose concentration easily and gets caught out of position occasionally but I think he is the best full back for the way we play. Change to a standard 4-4-2 and he won't get a look in.

 

The same applies to Gardner. He also gets a lot of stick but he is the right man for the left hand side. We have seen recently that although Caesar did a reasonable job defending we missed Gardner getting down the wing sometimes.

 

I put it to you the members of the jury that Hunt is the right man for the job.

Totally disagree with the sam wanting fullbacks to get forward. when was the last time you saw either fullback actually overlap and hit the by line?

 

sam works on a solid foundation of 4 from 5 (4 defenders, 1 def mid) staying defensively sound. and barey crossing the halfway line in open play.

 

Gardner down the wing? nope i must be watching different games... how many times a brum was the acres of space crying out for garnder to run into to stretch the play, but he just stood there.

 

back to the point of hunt, the lad is a prick, his attitude stinks, he thinks he's better than he is, he cant pass a ball to save his life, his crossing is appalling, but can defend when he concentrates, which is very rarely. One of his main problems is his intent on winding the opposition up rather thean playin football.

One minute from the whole season isn't bad.

the lads a good footballer, his attitude may be bad and sam needs to sort it out, but i think its the typical syndrome of bolton born lad makes it good and the fans begrudge his sucess, this happened to roy greaves, get of his back, granted he does have the odd concentration lapse but he will improve and mature with age.

i do nt think anyone thinks hunt is a world beater.

 

he is young and cheap (for the premier league) he does a decent job but needs to work very hard on his game to stay at this level. clearly opposition teams have picked on his weaknesses and are trying to exploit them.

 

i agree with the comments on his attitude and his passing/crossing can be poor, but he has plenty of time to work on them.

 

he makes the odd mistake in games which get picked on because he is the new julian darby which in turn will affect his confidence.

 

he does need to think more about his game and less time trying to be charlie big time.

 

at the players do last year one of the players admitted he is up his own arse so it is not going unnoticed at the club.

 

overall i think maybe we should back sam to get the best out of him and try and encourage the lad rather than seeing if we can totally erode his confidence.

having said all about he crapness, i think i'd rather have an average bolton lad than some 34year old foriegn has-been at rightback.

Confidence and temperament are vital for any footballer and he's probably lacking both at the minute.

 

It doesn't help when, as someone else pointed out, he's the new Julian Darby.
