February 17, 200521 yr NOw what I don't get, is why Ben Haim was even charged in the first place? They charge Rooney for violent behaviour or whatever it's called, violent conduct thats the one, so that obviously means that he is guilty and Ben Haim did nothing wrong. They should have charged just one of them, preferably Rooney or neither of them at all! The FA are a bunch of inconsistent twats!
February 17, 200521 yr For me, what ever he did is irrelavant. If Rooney hadnt have raised his hands, he wouldnt have fallen over!
February 17, 200521 yr It was without doubt done as a sop to Sir Awex, following his outburst that Rooney should not be charged. Sam admitted, and anyone could see that he did over-react somewhat, however the point was that he was 'struck'- unlike numerous others (Ronaldo ?) who feign injury when no-one was near them. If the F.A. were to find him guilty, they'd have opened a huge can of worms, and rightly stayed clear.

Given the officals saw the incident but chose not to act, why is no action being taken against them ? the third offical was shown on tv tlaking with sunbed and gesturing that he had seen it. hang about......bolton away at old trafford.........i have answered my own question.
February 17, 200521 yr and bartez has just been accused of spittin at a referee will they now call him scum of the earth and he should be shot, hung drawn & quartered then be fed to the sharks? doubt it somehow
February 17, 200521 yr and bartez has just been accused of spittin at a referee When did that happen?
February 17, 200521 yr I think that Wayne Rooney, Alex Ferguson, Man Utd Plc and the FA are just anti-semetic.
February 17, 200521 yr and bartez has just been accused of spittin at a referee When did that happen? http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticl...-52_L17562419:1 PARIS, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Fabien Barthez could be punished after a referee said the Olympique Marseille goalkeeper spat at him during a friendly match with Morocco's Wydad Casablanca on Saturday. Referee Abdella El Achiri said he was going to report the incident to the Moroccan soccer federation, L'Equipe sports daily reported on Thursday. "I was a bit surprised to see Barthez coming towards me on the pitch as he had been replaced at the interval," El Achiri said. "He came up to me, he insulted me and he spat at me." The match was stopped when a brawl erupted in the 80th minute while the Moroccan hosts were leading 2-1, which was the final score. "I'm going to report to my federation and it will be up to them to make a move," El Achiri said. If found guilty Barthez, France's 1998 World Cup-winning goalkeeper, could be banned for several matches, L'Equipe said, adding that Olympique Marseille executive chairman Pape Diouf has sent an invitation to El Achiri to try to defuse the row.
February 17, 200521 yr the third offical was shown on tv tlaking with sunbed and gesturing that he had seen it. I take it you meant the FOURTH official. . .but in the last programme, halsey stated that he was 4th official for the Man U/Spurs game when Spurs scored from 1/2 way line but linesman didn't see it. anyway, halsey claims to have seen the ball cross the line but is not empowered to give such information to the ref. He states that the only times the 4th offial can get involved with the game are: At substitutions Showing added time Replacing any of the three officials due to injury Cases of violent conduct. Therefore the 4th official could have alerted the ref to what he'd seen!
February 17, 200521 yr Author the 4th official at the theatre of scum v us said he saw rooneys assault on ben haim, but didn't think it worthy of drawing it to the attention of the referee
