Next Year's Season Tickets

As a forum of BWFC supporters who regularly attend home games - maybe we should come together and put some proposals to the club for next season. We don't want ripping off. We don't want empty seats. But if the price rises and WE SIGN SOME TALENT, then its got to be worth it.

Main things I like to be discussed and considered...... Cup matches pre-paid in the ST price. Its a gamble for everyone, but if they air on 4 home games - and build in ??20 per game it'll guarantee good crowds. If we progress, then they will lose out, if we don't they will make money. Also worth considering is some European match ticket scheme. Whereas you can purchase a ticket for X amount of games in advance.

Or maybe they just create a 2nd ST for both domestic and European cup games and allow you to pre-purchase. This would force everyone wanting to attend UEFA or Champs League matches into watching League Cup and FA Cup matches. Better crowds = more revenue = better chance of progression.

That sounds like too much organising for the ticket office.

Yeah because they couldnt even organise Carling Cup tickets without ballsing it up 8-[

I don't intend to renew my ST next season, but feel that I might have to, in order to guarantee a ticket for an away European fag-buying trip.

Sorry, I meant a European football match! :^o

If, when stating a case for cup matches to be included at a NOMINAL FEE, you point out that for the past 4/5 seasons BWFC has used cheap admission to games as an incentive to casual supporters while we, the ST holders get nothing.

Putting ST prices up will be a PR disaster unless there's a strong incentive such as first Euro game included in the price.

The most important thing for the club to do now is to get every ST holder to renew.

i think the club are shiting thereselves, did you see the last questionaire (on the main site last week) all the questions had stuff like "did you attend more matches this season than in previous", "will you be attending more matches next season"

i think alot more people will not get a season ticket andf then pick and choose their games. with all the changes for sky etc, alot of fans already miss a game or two over the season.

added to the redeem your ticket borrocks, why dont you get the full price back if the club sell it on? they are trying to do it for the chelsea game.

I am being offered the equivalent of ??10 for my Chelsea ticket - which is worth over ??30! Scandulous.

you should get ??30 off your season ticket if you give them your seat for chelsea.

not ??10 [-X

some folk are bound to be so hacked off that they wont renew as these cheap buy a foolham ticket get a southampton ticket half price scams arent doin season ticket holders any favours

look at what happened at blackburns crowds after they had that many ticket deals on

we're fans we don't matter!

Few more points on this.

First off, the club have to recognise that the official crowd figures mask a worrying trend which has been for ST holders to give games a miss. Many of the real crowd figures this year will have been thousands down on the official ones - which count ST holders as being there come what may. It wont take much for someone who is already buying the ST as a guarantee of tickets for the bigger games, rather than a chance to get to them all, to decide enough is enough.

As I said earlier in the thread, PR is the key here. And there's a glorious chance for a PR coup if we get into Europe - if they say "we're in Europe, its been the best season ever and there's promise of more to come - how good are we that we've not upped ST prices for those renewing early" then that will get noticed. Not only by waivering renewers but also by the national press; it would not only go a long way to guaranteeing full renewal figures but would also help erase much of the damage done by last years Cardiff debacle.

And after all, consider the alternative. There's a definite limit to how much they could hike the price by anyway - 10% is surely it and they probably wouldnt want to risk tickets such as my ESL, which was currently mid 400s going above 500. So lets say the best they could hope for was ??40 on each. 20,000 of them but of course many of those are lower priced kids tickets - so i reckon in total they'd get in an extra ??600-700k. Now correct me I'm wrong but dont we get that for just one televised game?? We have the windfall of the Chelsea game which is on tv because it was assumed they'd win the title at it even though thats probably not the case now. So you really really have to wonder if in the grand scheme of things the extra ??600-700k would be worth the risk. Especially if we go out of Euro quickly and next season turns out to be a bit tougher than this one (which it easily could if things dont gel so well and we have injuries etc).

Its odd, because there's the natural thought that if we got into the CL the club could justify raising prices....but when you think about it further thats hardly true. The guaranteed income not to mention the ??6.5m extra for coming 4th instead of 17th really should enable them to reward us.

And there's no point them bleating - its not a question of what fans "should" be doing, how they "should" respond or what the club feel its reasonable for them to pay in terms of price hike. Its about just one thing - what the fans will do, how they will think. The club is a business and so should behave like one and treat their customers as well as possible; as others have pointed out here before, if Tescos profits are down they dont bleat about the customers they sort out whats wrong in terms of pricing and PR.

Cup games in with ST price definately a priority.

Cup games in with ST price definately a priority.

ALL cup games. . . League Cup, FA Cup and Champs League all for an extra ??75 each season. Some we'll gain; some we'll lose.
