apparently tesco say that if you park for more than 2 hours, even if you are in the store shopping you are are eligible for a fine, this rule is on a sign in all tesco car parks.

 

There was a case not long back about a woman who did her weekly shop in Tesco, then went to the store cafe for lunch and got fined for taking over 2 hours doing the two. Can't find a link though.

It's all load of crap to do with data protection. But lots of companies can providing they prove their identity and provide a legitimate reason for accessing the database. It's normally insurance companies and anyone with a reason to stitch up the owner with fines.

i had to pay the ??50 think you will too once they pass it on to dept collectors. your fooked they can even take your belongings away your not the first and you wont be the last. put it down to experience and park somewhere else next time my reg is protected but they still found me who is giving out the info thats what we need to know.

yes they can, as long as they can prove they have good reason too, overstaying on a carpark is good enough, and also helps them to rule out wether the vehicle is a security threat ( and not packed up with a bomb).

 

has any wanderers fan who shops at tesco branches ever written to tesco sayin how much they spend/ visit the stores or use their other services ie- credit card, loans,insurance, petrol etc, and asked them if they can park there on match days as a thankyou for customer loyalty. worth a try.

Write and point out that as you have effectively spent ??50 at Tesco you'd like the appropriate points put on your Clubcard.

Ok,you know theyre in the right, But ffs- its not as though you wouldve taken up the entire car parking allocation for the entire store.

if youve gotta pay it, make them work for it. Tell them you dont recall being there, ask for video evidence, a copy of the supposed letter they have 'already sent' you. And generally be a pain up the bum. In fact, tell them you need all evidence for the police as someone obviously used your car without consent, and that you are deeply concerned.

Then pay it in pennies.

This is bad advise missus c. They have heard it all before and while you are pissing them about it could go to bailiffs. They will at least double your fine and they have the power to possess your vehicle in the end
