Last time we played Wiggin in the challenge cup, mayhem prevailed, made headlines in the " Sydney Post" about the Leigh fans behaviour towards our neighbours.

I've just consulted my shoebox full of old tickets and crap and we last played Wigan in the cup on Sunday 17th March 2002. 4 years ago practically to the day. It was a good day that was. Me and Smiffs met at half 9 in the morning I remember in the Moony. Leigh went 10-0 up and then lost the lead. Second half Wigan defending their own line at the Leigh end of the ground, under their own sticks and got pelted with bottles from the terraces. Fantastic. Made the front page of the local rags that. Wigan won about 24-16 but it's one of the roughest and muckiest games of rugby I've ever seen. After the game the Wigan coach said 'Leigh were a disgrace. We came here to play rugby, not for a fight.'

 

Hell of a turn out Leigh had that day too, even Miami White turned out if I remember rightly...

Big turn out for this one I would hope, definite all ticket job. First time I've ever been in a pub that's swapped all the wires round to get Radio 5 on over the big screen. We won at darts and doms too.
