If we have this so called up and coming star in Ali Al Habsi then why have we given Ian Walker a two year deal. I am sure that the number 3 goalkeeper job is ideal for a young lad like Chris Howarth.

 

Seems to me like the waste of a wage, as i am sure that Ian Walker will be on a few quid.

I suppose Sam is thinking that if one of them gets injured we still have 2 good keepers as a back up - Al Habsi may well go on loan for the odd month or too.

 

More importantly PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T SIGN NICKY BUTT!!!

Al-Habsi could do with some loan time. Think Vaz Te should have gone on loan last season........practise standing up in a competitive match environment would have been invaluable for him

Very unfair. Although I can not understand why Walker has been given a 2 year contract, the point by Ziggy is a good one.

You've got to have more than two decent keepers at a club.

 

Look at the likes of Everton and Boro - when their first choice has been out this season they've been left with shite.

About a month back or so. One year extension to 2008, I recall mentioning at the time what a load of shite --- 18 months of negotiations for a extra 12 months. I wonder if the player or club came out on top

Jussi has booked his kid into the nursery where the missus works, when he returns from Finlandkid starts. He did this on Wednesday, so I guess he has no immediate plans of moving.
