In my unbiased opinion I think Kev Davies should have got in the World Cup squad. I am also a fan of Ashton but he is injured and we have enough players going to Germany that aren't fully fit.

I don't agree with both Davies and Crotch goin. One or the other i would have been happy with and as i seriously dislike Crotch i think it shud have been Davies

All a matter of opinion. I wouldn't swap Davies for Ashton. The latter will be another flash in the pan like Pablos current hero Beattie. Cack.

I would swap Ashton for Davies and 3 million. I think he does everything Davies does, holds the ball up, wins the flick ons, he's strong, he's got some pace, and in addition to Davies HE SCORES GOALS. I think he's by far the better player. (just my opinion)

He hasn't got pace

 

He isn't comparable to Davies in his hold up play, considering he's 6'3

 

He doesn't score THAT many goals

 

He simply cost West Ham ??7m so people assume he's some great player, he is decent but nowt special

i agree kev works his ar*se off for us, he also is better at holding the ball up. Ashton isn't bad but i just think Kev has more to give.

I think Davies is great and his work rate is second to none but Ashton is such a clever player he is like a younger Sheringham that pass to Scaloni was superb!!! The 7m price tag has nothing to do with me thinking he's a good player, i just think he is and will prove to be for a good few years both in the prem and for England.

Crouch shouldn't be going, he'll be in Germany just because he plays for Liverpool and that reason alone. I've always though he was a decent player, but he's our secret weapon simply coz he's tall and plays for a big club

 

4 of his goals this season were deflections given to him by that dodgy goals panel - says it all really.

I think Crouch would be a great "secret" weapon in Germany with knock downs like the one that produced Gerrards first goal BUT I fear the refs will constantly blow for fouls as he will have arms all over the small defenders.

Crouch is a shite header of the ball though, if you're looking for a player to win headers then Kev Davies is the best around - no doubt about it.

 

Crouch is in there coz he's a Liverpool player, a la Emile Heskey.

Kev's a bright lad, he realised his career was almost over and buckled down, worked hard, lost a stone and a half and the rest is history.

we are all talking about strikers im sure big sam can get Ricketts on the good old form, why not try the risk im sure he wont cost alot now
