Diouf says 'no' to United

Featured Replies

Marseille chairman Pape Diouf claims he has told Manchester United that exciting France winger Franck Ribery is not for sale.

Lyon are also keen to sign the talented wide man, who is part of Raymond Domenech's squad for the World Cup finals.

However, Diouf is determined to keep Ribery despite the player claiming he was unhappy with the dismissal of coach Jean Fernandez.

"Jean-Michel Aulas [Lyon's chairman] wants to sign Franck Ribery," Diouf told the club's official website. "But we want him to play at least one more season with us.

"I told him [Aulas] that we wanted to keep him but I know he will keep on asking.

"Our principle shareholder will help us.

"Manchester United are also interested but they have shown much more courtesy and delicacy.

"Manchester United's representatives have told us they could be interested in the player.

"I gave them the same answer and told them he was not transferable.

"It means that Franck Ribery will stay with l'OM next season."

Keep you all on yer toes! :D/ :D

](*,) Think that was the point.

:D

I thought it would be about El Hadji.

I was disappointed at the thought of him not leaving, but now i'm happy that united have been knocked back by someone else.

Personally, I'd be glad to see the back of Diouf: petulant, arrogant waste of time and space IMO.

Matchwinner Traf, that's why he is tolerated

hasn't actually won a match for us for quite some time 8-[

Matchwinner make the Allstars kit, you know. That's the only matchwinner I see.

EHD hasn't been worth the money we paid for him last year. He's rapidly approaching Dean Holdsworth status in the waste of money awards IMO.

He has the ability to win games, but when, indeed, was the last time this happened? He was AWOL from New Year, when just one spark of brilliance could have turned one of our many draws into a victory to guarantee another European adventure.

This won't go away and I won't let it lie.

The failure to qualify for Europe this season is a joint effort by:

1. The failure to strengthen the team in January

2. Big Sam (cult hero followed blindly by the pig-ignorant masses) taking his eye off the job in hand to chase a job he was never going to get.

3. Diouf (cult hero followed blindly by the pig-ignorant masses) deciding he wasn't going to bother with the rest of the season after the ANC.

Diouf is a cock and I wouldn't be bothered one bit if he left.

I'd take what we paid for Diouf definitely.

I'd definitely take what the club would have us believe we paid.

True. We hadn't paid anything for him then.

Eggs-f??ckin-zackly.

If he had displayed his recent attitude whilst on loan, he'd never have been signed.

Well since then, he's been done for spitting (or aggravated assault or whatever the f??ck it was), assaulting a woman and drink driving.

Oh and he hasn't played virtually all year. Thats 5 months. At least 2 of those months have been in his head it seems.

Things change to put it mildly.

He's drinking in the last chance saloon, it must be said.

But he deserves another crack, if he comes back fit and firing we'll be a 20% better team.

A crack around the head is what he needs. although I believe it's two other types of crack he has been preoccupied with.

Totally agree; we couldn't pick up another player with his talent for the money we paid for him, BUT he needs to show it consistently...I'd say his shelf life depends on his form up until the January window
