I too thought Hunt had a great game yesterday. I also think he'd swapped boots with Ricardo. He had a nightmare.

 

I wonder if everyone in the team are going to play shite in turn to take the crowd's pressure off NH.

 

Was great to hear "SHOOOOOOOOOOT!" every time NH touched the ball. THAT'S support!

 

Not like the two blokes behind me who spent the whole game ripping into NH no matter what he did. Effing and blinding the whole game. Now I realise I'm at a football game, and I'm not one of the don't-swear-in-front-of-my-kids brigade, but one of the blokes sits there with his three year old daughter on his knee!

 

I know who you mean, that bloke is such a pussy. And he only watches half the game, spends the rest of the time pushing past everyone to get to and from the bar. Even my son pointed out that he screams obscenities into the ear of his daughter and he's not averse to the odd four letter word himself.

 

As for the game, I agree that Hunt was much better than usual, Gardner was awful and Ben Haim and Meite superb. Speed again did Nolan's job as well as his own and was therefore knackered after an hour. Faye worries me. He's fine for intimidating the likes of the soft gets like Henry, Lampard or Defoe, but theres not much in the way of skill or refinement to his game. He's like the opposite of Campo. Both have their uses but a mix of the two would be ideal. Diouf was great. Skinned the full back every time he went near him.

 

All in all, a much needed and well deserved three points.

Don't want to get carried away too soon after our bad run has (hopefully) ended but could the Arsenal away game be a real 6 pointer for 4th place?

 

IMO Arsenal don't have the mental application to just play for 3rd or 4th place, alot of their guys will be thinking their season is now over.

I hope they stay up, i miss it when there are no Yorkshire clubs in the Prem. I've always loved the trip over tert wrong side of the pennines - deep into bandit territory.

A very strong performance IMO,

forget the super strike, Nicky Hunt misplaced only two passes in 90 minutes, he didnt just bang it into 'Davo' but brought in EHD, Anelka and speed with a quality range of passes.
