Big Win

Featured Replies

Didnt sound pretty but we needed that.

6 point easter & we're sorted before we go to Arse, beat Reading & Sunny Beach here we come

Huge result. Fcuk the performance - three more 1-0 wins and I'll be ecstatic. Great to hear KD scored as a Sheffield lad. Wonder if he grew up following Wednesday?

Yep, big win indeed. I honestly thought we would bottle it today, especially with Sheff United needing the points just as much as us. Might not have been pretty but it gets us back into winning ways.

Scored at Bramall Lane as well.

Was in fact a massive Blades fan growing up.

nicky hunt !!!!

ha, i was thinking the same thing at the end of the 1st half....

With a lot at stake for both teams the tension made an average game a good one to watch. Big win.

Would same have been said if it ended 0-0?

we just needed a win...no need to get carried away

we played a poor side

by me, yes

played good stuff

never had any time for idiots who decide if we've played well by the scoreline alone

we played well in bits i thought ricardo gardner had a nightmare to me hes not the same player? elk was different class in stages and davo played well also hunt :drinks:

One goal can change the perception of a match depending on what end of the result you are on. Twos never going to be one for the purest today.

Meiti was fantastic in the first 45.

Hunt played his best game for a very long time, there was times where anelka looked way better than anyone else on the pitch.

Decent goal from davo.

If it wasn't for Kenny we could have had 3 or 4 his save from Hunt's super strike and dioufy in the 1st half

all in all a good result and we're back in the winning groove!

Not often i agree with Homer but Hunt was superb in the first half, he put some superb balls into the box and if that shot would have gone in it would have been one of the top ten goals of the season.

Absolutely! We were as good today as when we put four past west spam, admittedly 2 poor teams. Kenny prevented an absolute rout.

Hunt was excellent today but MOM for me was Meite! He was outstanding all game!

The only downfall was that feckin Morrison's placcy shopping bag that was swirling around the pitch all feckin game!

I was waiting for it to tackle someone a la Campo <_<

Jussi made 2 or 3 decent saves to stop them going one in front.

I too thought Hunt had a great game yesterday. I also think he'd swapped boots with Ricardo. He had a nightmare.

I wonder if everyone in the team are going to play shite in turn to take the crowd's pressure off NH.

Was great to hear "SHOOOOOOOOOOT!" every time NH touched the ball. THAT'S support!

Not like the two blokes behind me who spent the whole game ripping into NH no matter what he did. Effing and blinding the whole game. Now I realise I'm at a football game, and I'm not one of the don't-swear-in-front-of-my-kids brigade, but one of the blokes sits there with his three year old daughter on his knee!

I thought Nicky Hunt performance in the first half was the best I have seen from him all season. He didn't have a bad second half but he did make a few poor decisions and a few pointless balls, but I am not criticising him I thought overall he had a very good game.

I also agree that Miete was MOM, he was class at the back.

Anelka was different class, Diouf looked more like his old self, Davies looks back to full fitness and his finish was quality, and I thought Nolan had a better game, and did very well in the defensive part of his game.

One bad point for me was Gardner, I thought he had a terrible game, and against a better side he would have been punished for it.

Eventhough it wasn't a top class performance it was a lot better than we have played for a long time, and if it wasn't for Kenny then it would have been a lot more comfortable.

A good 3 points and a win at Wigan and we're back on track.

A good post Eddie, couldn`t agree more.

But is the reason Hunt played so well because he didn`t have much defending to do?

The bit about the "poor decisions and a few pointless balls" is interesting. I also noticed he punted the ball up field to no-one and wasted posession. I, however, didn't blame Hunt for that, I did blame the forward line though who, it seems, didn't react quickly enough and really ought to have been going out wide to where Hunt was looking to play the ball.

Nothing happened so Hunt hoofed it. Rather that than; "Nothing happened and Hunt dilly-dallied so much that Sheff. Utd. stole the ball from him and ran through to score."

The lad's a defender. His job is to prevent the opposition scoring. In clearing the ball upfield when he realised that no pass was on, in my opinion, he was doing the right thing.

Not saying Nicky had a bad game or good for that matter. But I think because of that rasping shot, everyone took note of the good stuff he did yesterday and kind of forgave him for the poor stuff.

Gardner was shocking. Embarrassingly bad. But the worse pass of the day had to be Faye in the 2nd half when he passed it out of play. He dropped to his knees and held his head in his hands. I thought he was very average.

I was really hoping for Andranik to come near the touchline of the ESL- so we could sing "we want our sailors back, we want our sailor back!"
