Talksport (2)

Featured Replies

Was also being discussed on talksport this morning; the worst keepers you had seen.

Some geezer from Bolton rang up and said Dave Felgate was our most dodgy keeper.

Now......

'The Cat' might have had his deficiencies and sported one of the worst perms in history, but I thought for ?16.5K he was a steal!

Surely he wasnt as bad as Terry Poole, Denis Peacock, Simon Farnworth and Mike Salmon.....was he?

This brings me onto a question that has bugged me for over 20 years.

If 'The Cat' had played in the 1985 Freight Rover Final.....would we have won??? YES or NO??

Or would the silky skills displayed by Steve Neville that day always going to be too much.

Can still see TC smashing that first half strike against the crossbar....God we were crap back then!!

No, but what about in 86?

Answer's still No.

Would we have played United in 1992?

Gavin Ward was shit

Sommer only conceded one goal in 90 minutes, whereas Hansen conceded 3 in about 30 didn't he? Not that I'm taking that post seriously or anything. :pardon:

Still, didn't Sommer just get injured whilst attempting to save that free-kick when trying to jump? Thought he pulled a muscle in his leg?

tommy wright and ally maxwell were bad uns in fairly recent times

peacok and poole still cause me to wake in the night

salmon is an odd one

went on to much better things than we had to offer

victim of the burnden boo boys imo

didnt branagan do the half time draw? and the pa guy asked if he'd brought his gloves

Kevin Rose wasn't brilliant.

Must have been the smallest keeper ever at BWFC.

I spoke to DF on the phone yesterday, must call him back and tell him the good news!

He is now passing on his knowledge to 'future stars of the game'

Felgate wasn't a bad keeper at all. But I still won't forgive him for the FA Cup replay at Southampton. Bloody long journey home that was. happy days!

Yep tear gas going down there
