If it is being built on the site the former BA, then I dont see why the locals should criticise the building on the grounds that it is being built on green belt land. I assume that it would replace the old engineering buildings that have stood there for years. I noticed that the outside pitches have already been laid and they look in superb condition for training facilities.

With an average premiership player costing in excess of ?3m then I think it's great value for money. As long as the time and cash continues to be put into the academy then it can be nothing but good news.

This is absolute horseshite. These folk aren't 'locals' at all, they're obviously new to Lostock and so should should the f?ck up. When I was a kid, BAe/DeHavilland/Hawker Sidley, whatever you want to call it, employed that many folk that at shift finishing time it was like a busy day on the busiest road in Delhi.

So having the Middlebrook, a football stadium and a couple of industrial estates is ok, but a few more cars from a football academy's going to cause total gridlock is it? Shut up!

It's anything but a waste of money. 3 million pounds won't get you a lot in football nowadays. The academy only has to produce 1 or 2 decent Premier League footballers and it will have paid for itself a few times over. Great stuff, been needed for some time!

How the fuck will a few kids coming home from training choke the roads with traffic?

It looks good...but for foook's sake put the proper badge on the outside...they use the Elephant and Castle quite a bit up at Euxton, so lets use it at the accademy instead of the absolutly stupid looking ribbons
