October 3, 200718 yr our reserve team is actually full of academy players 16-17-18 and a good few look decent prospects, I would guess Wigan played a good few of there first team squad.
October 3, 200718 yr our reserve team is actually full of academy players 16-17-18 and a good few look decent prospects, That I just can't understand. We played 9 first team squad players at Fulham in the Carling Cup and still Stelios and Andranik couldn't get a start! Surely with such a large first team squad at least 4 or 5 should be getting a weekly game in the stiffs?

Had we not been playing tomorrow then some of the squad players would have had a runout.

Had we not been playing tomorrow then some of the squad players would have had a runout. that said surely with the 'depth' of the squad as Lee puts it. He would have (or should have) known in his mind what team he will be playing against the Robots on Thursday then given the stiffs a runout on that basis?
October 3, 200718 yr A mate of mine went last night, he said Wigan had a lot of first teamers on they're way back from injury - and a few squad players playing for a first team place. He also said the Bolton side was full of "unknowns" but played pretty well, and had enough chances to get a draw.
To Wigan!
