This Dosn't Sound Too Positive

GARY Megson has spoken of his frustration so far in the January transfer window as he looks for talent to help pull Wanderers away from the relegation zone.

The Bolton boss has identified several players he thinks can take the club to safety, including Iceland international full-back Gretar Steinsson and Sweden star Johan Elmander.

But sealing the deals, claims Megson, is a task made more difficult both by the Whites' precarious league position and the fact he has widely-publicised funds to spend from the sale of Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea.

advertisementAnd though Megson is not short on ideas as to who he would like to bolster his squad, he freely admits the mission is made more difficult by his side's continuing inconsistency.

"It does make it harder to sign players," he said. "But it will make Roy Keane's (Sunderland boss) job more difficult and Paul Jewell's (Derby manager) job more difficult.

"I have been in this situation with West Brom. You know the players you want, but you don't always get the ones you actually need."

Sounds to me like the ginger one is preparing us for some dross he is about to sign cos no other fcuker will come ...

I prefer the Rolling Stones version myself.

This is brilliant news, 4 days after selling one of the worlds best strikers the club send out the message no one wants to join us.

Seriously, who is running this shambles?

Eddie and Phil tiold him they wanted the money for their ivory back-scratchers.

Megson's only saying what we guessed the club would be saying in the latter half of January.

The club needs to undo this month the lack of investment over the last 2 years and the lack of forward planning over the last 9 months. It probably can't be done. Who carries the can if we plummet ?

Manager takes the blame ....... but the cause is the lack of support of the manager from the board.

T?fting from Wikipedia

"During the 2002 World Cup, Danish weekly gossip magazine Se & H?r ran a story that T?fting, when aged 13, had returned home from school to find the bodies of his parents. His mother had been shot by his father, who shortly thereafter turned the gun on himself. The story had been kept secret for years, as T?fting had not yet told his children. Following the incident, Se & H?r chief editor Peter Salskov was fired. In celebrations among the Danish players following the 2002 FIFA World Cup, at "Caf? Ketchup" in Copenhagen, T?fting head-butted the proprietor of the caf?. He stood trial in October 2002 and was convicted to four months in jail, which he served from April to July 2003.

He returned injured to Bolton following the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He struggled to secure a place in the starting line-up, and after the conviction in October, he got his contract reduced until summer 2003."
