A few things of interest in todays papers for BWFC fans:

 

According to The People Cardiff boss David Jones is hoping to sign Bolton striker Heidar Helguson on loan

 

Also in The People Jermaine Pennant has been told he can leave Liverpool and Blackburn are ready to bid ?3m for the winger - I think for 3m he would be a very good signing for Bolton as we need and out and out winger. He has got some good skill and pace and can whip in a very good cross.

 

Sunderland have made an approach for Tottenham's ?4m-rated midfielder Steed Malbranque - also would be a very good signing. He is versatile and can play anywhere across the midfield, links up with the strikers well and scores a fair few goals

 

Watford defender Danny Shittu is close to completing a ?1.5m move to Rangers - for ?1.5m would be a very good signing and a great back up to Cahill and O'B. Megson has wanted a big strong defender and would be a good (and cheaper) replacement for Meite if he ever left. Also scored 9 goals as well from a CB position last season so is very good at set pieces!
