Without doubt one of the greatest bands of all time.

Foo Fighters took the stage saturday night at VH1's Rock Honors show, which this year paid tribute to The Who. The Foos kicked off the night with "Young Man Blues" and were then joined by Gaz Coombes of Supergrass, who handled vocals on "Bargain."

Interesting history the old High Numbers. Some of their earlier stuff floats my boat more - I Can't Explain; Pictures Of Lily etc.

 

Weren't originally Mods tha knows (apart from Townshend). Contrived by their manager of the time to fit the latest 'fad'(which is still thriving). If you want to talk genuine Mod bands then listen to the Small Faces or The Creation or The Action. Timeless music which is due another revival.

 

From the '79 revival, the Purple Hearts and the Chords were good.

 

The Who have been unbelievable though (form a longevity point of view). Soundtrack to Quadrophenia is superb.

as is tommy- i have seen them live a couple of times, were quite good. the isle of wight dvd is brilliant

Same as you Andy. Tis only recently with Rock Radio giving them plenty of air time that I've given them time.
